Positive Dental Experience

It so happened that another couple from Albuquerque were renting another of the apartments where we were staying in Tlaquepaque. It turned out that the wife had been having dental problems with a previous partial but had been procrastinating about getting the work done. Based upon Kathy's experience, she decided to go see Dr. Edilberto Valdivia (Prostodontist, rehabilitation). She called on Monday and was given an appointment for yesterday. We just received an email after arriving back home. Dr. Edilberto gave her a thorough cleaning and made adjustments to the partial which was affecting both her upper and lower teeth. One session took care of the problems and the total cost was $61USD. Apparently, she is one happy camper!

Just as a followup, Kathy returned for a cleaning and checkup of the work performed in January. Back in January there had been concern over two teeth and while one had responded in a positive manner, the other had not. A decision was made to extract the one tooth and to have her bite adjusted with some grinding of certain teeth. These two procedures were performed in an hour and ten minutes by the two different dentists with a total charge of $1400MXN. Absolutely no pain or discomfort experienced by Kathy!

And I am just saying....I have to have all the crowns done in Ajijic redone because the caps were wrapped around the original teeth and..not put high enough into the gum line.
It is not because the dentists were that bad..more that who ever they send the impressions to are not doing a good job on the new crowns.
All the money spent had just made more problems for me...I need to have all the crowns removed and new ones placed...so I do not feel so good about the Ajijic dentists anymore. Please once in awhile have x rays done to see that there is not infection around the tips of your crowns. At least you can get your dentist to do it over and a reduced cost or no cost if the crowns are bad. It appears many of the dentists trained are poor in the final fitting of the crowns.
