1 Dollar equals 17.11 Pesos
Asking the folks who have seen this in the past, How screwed are we going to be before this stops. Is this because of Brandon's economic destruction or is the peso getting that strong? Anyone with a crystal ball?

Posts with political bias belong in the Octagon section.
And you aren't being "screwed". It was your choice to live in a foreign country on your US income and savings. Currency exchange fluctuates- it's part and parcel of choosing to be a retired expat.

Politicians are always talking about the economy but economic forces are greater than one person can influence. Usually all they do is make one class of people wealthier at the expense of others.

Also I would say that if one has adopted Mexico as their chosen place to live, and care about others, they should be happy to see the Mexican economy thriving- a strong peso is good for the Mexicans.

One of the reasons Mexico's economy is thriving is from near shoring. The pandemic which caused a huge bottleneck in the supply chain caused many companies to move manufacturing closer to home, i.e. Mexico:

Most forecasts that I have read think that the peso will continue to strengthen against the dollar, perhaps hitting 15 to 1 by the end of the year.

Some folks just don't understand the affects of world-wide inflation. Point fingers at easiest target... often political. Call them names. Sad.

I believe the peso will remain strong and probably get stronger over the next couple of years.
