Ahhh, those holy cohetes

When we first moved here to Ajijic, our neighbor Jack early one morning went off on the hundred plus cohetes that were blasting him awake. My spouse and I went all Full Jack on the bombardment that began this morning at about five--or was it six? We're aware of church's desire to acknowledge the blessed movement of various Virgens. We can't help but think, though--in our entitled, culturally ignorant fashion--that the money used to claim dominion over when everyone in our village is forced awake--That that money could be better spent on healthcare, education, food.

Totally agree. A waste of money and a detriment to the hearing and sanity of anyone and any animal within range.

Apparently, this will be the last day until the next event. I hope I read the other post on this subject correctly :)

Hate the damned things, just for my poor dogs’ sake. Pretty much not a problem near me in Riberas but this year we were bombarded due to the nearby church. I understand the priest there lives them. Poor Dr. Ladron’s patients must have really suffered.

I had no idea they were that expensive.

Thank God the Virgens have finally gone home we can get some sleep...
