Hurricane Orlene
For anyone paying attention to this one, the hurricane is directly west of us here in Sayulita right now, and all we have had is overcast sky, some very light intermitent drizzle and no wind at all.
This hurricane is quite compact and I don't think you're going to see much impact, if any, from it Lakeside.
We're in a somewhat protected little area here in Sayulita, the way it is situated, so many weather events sort of blow right past us. But even PV doesn't sound like it got much rain from this storm.
What happens when it hits up north of Mazatlan, though, might be a lot more intense.

Re: Hurricane Orlene
As it appears on the weather maps right now, the wind speed near the core isn't even very strong- 45 mph. Forecast is for it to lose speed and intensity, so it might just be a lot of rain when it hits land. But of course, nature does its own thing, regardless of what humans predict.

Re: Hurricane Orlene
Wind speed n the core is usually not very high.

I know that. I didn't say in the core, I meant around it and past it. There are no really high wind speeds emanating from this hurricane right now. It's showing 36mph as the highest wind speed outside the core, with 30 as the highest on the coast, south of PV (although the core is now north of Sayulita) And wind gusts at 59 outside the core and 31-42 along various areas of the shore. Not a breath of wind here in Sayulita.
