notice several new for sale signs up on san luis today - adjacent to san mateo (I am on san lucas and shots sounded like in my front yard - and the homes now for sale on san luis are closer to shootout)

Let me try again

The shootout was very loud where I live on calle san lucas - which is about 2-3 blocks away. Sounded like it was next door as far as the shots and distance go - it appears that I am about 200 - 250 meters from the shootout according to google maps - and probably the same for the for sale homes. Actually it sounded like it was right down the street - pretty close and I was surprised how well the sound traveled.

From quora - the sound of the “bang” from the gun will die-out over a few hundred meters in a grassy, tree-lined environment. Shorter in snow, and longer with rock or concrete/bricks, or hard-dirt.

Today I noticed 2 homes now for sale on San Luis - west of me - and slightly closer to san mateo and paseo del lago. I had actually been wondering if I would start to see for sale signs in the area - and was not surprised to notice them today. I assume they are really recent as I hadn't noticed them before. If the sounds were loud where I am, then it would have been loud there too - as they are only a few houses away.

I cannot imagine what it sounded like to those that lived closer - must have been very very loud

Once at the intersection to Las Gallinas on the Hwy between Sahuayo and Tizapan el Alto I saw two semi trailers backed up to each other with the rear doors open and military soldiers were transferring bales of marijuana from one to the other. Broad daylight on a major road. No problem, On the way back from Jiquilpan, I stopped at the intersection and swept up a couple of buds for a friend.
