Metal Livestock Tanks
Good morning,
I am looking for oval metal livestock water tanks. Has anyone seen a store in the Lakeside area that has a decent selection? The hard plastic colorful ones would be a second choice. Any help is appreciated and if I can avoid going into GDL, I would love it.
Thanks!
Pam

Re: Metal Livestock Tanks
Those metal livestock tanks make superb raised bed gardens or water features. I will be watching to see if anyone can help you find them. The hard colourful plastic ones will crack and split in the sun here. Depending on what you're using them for of course, it could create an enormous mess when it happens. I had to throw out two plastic Adirondack chairs after only two years of use. They literally snapped into pieces when I moved them one day.

Along the highway between Chapala and Guad are several places where you can buy these galvanized tanks.

In Jocotepec on the road going south from the plaza where all the shoe stores are there is a farm store that use to sell the tanks. Here at the ranch I have found the thick rubber tanks last as long as the metal ones. I actually prefer them as they don't get as hot in the sun. I have two large oval rubber tanks I have had for 8 years and still no problems.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I was unable to locate the metal tanks. I went another direction. Appreciate your input. Pam
