Thanx to recommendations from a few friends... quite a few actually...Pedro, Rick, Tim, Mike, Gary...
I met Ron & Al Young a couple of Canadian Fellas who have a mechanical/welding shop in Chapala...
These guys are playing around with plasma/laser cutters and are going to create some art out of plate steel for us,
for around our pool...
They have some very impressive examples of what they can accomplish with this technology ....
We are looking to do Fish, Sea Horses, Turtles, etc....

Very cool. Do they have a retail shop or is this stuff just made to order?

they have a complete machine shop as well and can manufacture "anything" you come up with. al's the artiste and master machinist and ron is the master mechanic.
made to order but there are some samples which are probably for sale hanging on the wall. nice metal door with artwork by negro for example

CB,

They have a few pieces on display. The fun part is coming up with your own ideas. The work I had done are one of a kind and I am very happy with the results. Al and Ron are both great to talk with. Think my next will be a Tortuga.

CB,

Many variables involved, as to type of material and how intricate the cuts have to be. Painting was not included.

Frigate Bird approx. 25" X 14"

Fish approx. 29" X 18"

At the time I purchased these and the material used, it was $400 Pesos for the bird and approx $500 Pesos more or less for the fish.

Very reasonable if you ask me, especially for this quality of work. Another plus from Al is, he will NOT BS you! I wanted some work done from SS, at a certain thickness and he honestly told me he didn't have the right equipment to perform the work I wanted.
