.... and citizen of mexico? did you know that since 1957 in lieu of paying taxes you are allowed to donate your work on a sliding scale depending on your sales to a maximum of 6 pieces?

U can Donate Art and use the value as a Tax Receipt in Canada as well....I'll betcha US allows it too....

I think Pedro is saying you can use the donation to actually pay your income tax, not just as a "charitable donation" deduction???

almost correct-what "in lieu of" means it's not a donation-it's how an artist's income tax is actually paid,with some of their work and not pesos. that's why mexican artists don't fill out tax forms keep records nor need accountants. they give the gummint their good art because the gummint puts it on display even in foreign missions. what a great win/win idea. not just those who paint pitchures by the way.CanuckBob wrote:I think Pedro is saying you can use the donation to actually pay your income tax, not just as a "charitable donation" deduction???
