Can your Bike go through Water [Off Topic]
Let's go something out from the topic.
If you’re ever caught in a rainstorm while riding your bike, don’t despair – you may be able to make it through! Just because your bike isn’t made for swimming doesn’t mean it can’t handle a little water.
It’s important to remember that not all bikes are created equal when it comes to getting wet. If you have a road bike or other type of high-end bike, you may want to think twice before taking it through puddles. These bikes are often constructed with thin, lightweight materials that can easily be damaged by water.
On the other hand, if you have a mountain bike or another type of durable, you may want to consider taking it on a near-water experience. If your bike isn’t ruined by the water once you’re done, you might actually enjoy riding in light rain!
If you’re not sure what type of bike you own, stop by your local Trek retailer and we can help you figure it out.
Riding through puddles (or any body of water for that matter) may seem like a great idea at first, but keep in mind that they were most likely formed from the rain for a reason. Take time to assess the situation before attempting to ride through standing water; if there is more than an inch or two on the roadway under the puddle, don’t chance it.

Spammers trying to drum up business for themselves under the guise of posting supposedly helpful information are the bane of internet forums.

Mudgirl is right. People all over the world ride bikes in the rain and puddles also. Original post is silly.

Every electric bike I have seen is shielded from water. Post refers nothing about electric bike. I am an engineer.
