Re: Vaccination. Anyone. Any Age over 18. First OR second
I'm glad to see there are more choices here now, as a Sinovac recipient. But not enough choices. For travellers, the US hasn't approved it yet. It's used in Canada; even Trudeau has that shot, and is trying to ensure Canadians travelling to the US won't be hassled about it (since June: haven't heard any more about that). Meantime, his govt won't approve Sinovac. The whole thing is a mess when it comes to travel.

The U.S. has approved all vaccinations approved by WHO. AstraZeneca is on that list. Or were you referring to Sinovac that Canada doesn't recognize?

The last story I could find about AstraZeneca was Trudeau trying to ensure that it was acceptable in the US, for Canadians, which as of June was not. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-astrazeneca-travellers-1.6071320
The FDA had not approved it, according to this August report: https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/coronavirus-covid-19-update-august-6-2021

There was a whole thread with important links in it that was started by Canada Mike. It seems to have disappeared. I wasted a lot of time looking for these links AGAIN.

Yes, WHO approved, not FDA, but it apparently doesn't matter anymore: WHO takes precedence. Also, WHO has accepted Sinovac, and the Cdn Feds have not, which means I still face restrictions if I travel back again.

Yes. Or you can now fly to Tijuana, walk across the CBX and get a J&J... and be back the same day.
BTW, I found the thread I was looking for... second page. It wasn't started by Canada Mike but the whole second page was in reference to his resurrecting it.
