Interesting article. I wonder if there are any ill effects to the bats, swallows, etc. that eat the mosquitoes?

They have also started an experiment in Florida releasing sterilised male mosquitoes. No idea how they sterilize on a large scale. I imagine castration would be pretty difficult. I alway remember hearing that only male mosquitoes whine, it is their mating call, and they do not bite. Now I have learned it all depends on the species.
