Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
I've tried getting Prime on Amazon.com.mx using my Canadian MasterCard and Scotia Visa (and even my Scotia Visa Bankcard, which is supposed to be as good as a regular Visa card), and each gets rejected every time. Now I hear from a person who says they are using a Canadian Visa card no problem. Anyone else have experience with this? I already have an account with both Canadian and US Amazon.

Tried using my USA American Express, no go. I can use my AMEX to pay for purchases but it will not let me signup for Prime.

Re: Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
I used my Canadian CC to sign up for Prime. Can't remember if it was Canadian Prime or Mexican however Prime is Prime so sign up for Prime.ca and it will work on both the US and Mexico sites.

If only that were true. I use both .ca and .com Amazons with Prime. It does not transfer to .mx.
And same as mexbound, no problem paying with either of these cards.

No problem paying Amazon.ca, .com, or .mx with a Scotiabank Visa from Scotiabank Canada. I don't have Prime. Mercado Libre won't take it though.

I have prime and my Canadian card is charged for any or all three sites. I also get the Prime TV with my membership. I order from Amazon.mx and .com all the time. I can log into all three of them with my same user and password. All my info is there.
Mercado Libre I believe I use PayPal.

Yes, I have prime on mx. Both for deliveries and the TV. I can also view US prime TV with my VPN. Not Canada though as ExpressVPN gets detected by the Canadian Prime TV.

Im pretty sure I signed up to Amazon.mx cause i never used it in Canada. Maybe the rules have changed however have you tried signing up to Amazon.ca Prime with your VPN set to a Canadian server and using a Canadian address? You can add other shipping addresses afterwards.

Re: Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
I signed up for Amazon.ca in Canada. I signed up for Amazon US from here in Mexico using a Cdn card and Cdn address. Having both US and CDN Prime doesn't seem to make any difference to .mx. Doesn't really have anything to do with shipping addresses, though. You saw the message in my previous post... no getting around that.
Anyway, so far, I have not been able to find a single person who can verify/remember if they got .mx Prime using a CDN card.

Re: Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
Well I have Mexican Prime and only have CDN credit cards. I never used Amazon in Canada so I must have signed up down here. I know I only signed up for one. I can simply log in to all the others and have my same Prime benefits.

My guess then is that yes, things have changed, possibly as a result of Covid. Thanks.

Re: Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
So to summarize.....you can sign into Amazon.mx with the same user and password as .com or .ca but cannot purchase the "Prime" on any of them?

Almost. I sign in to all three with the same ID and password, can buy products with any card on all three, and I can buy Prime on .com and .ca, but I cannot use any card to get Prime on amazon.com.mx.

Re: Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
Very strange. I just pay for one prime subscription and it is automatically available on all 3 when I log in.

Re: Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
If I could just get Prime Mexico, I would be happy, because since deliveries from the US have been curtailed to a certain degree, I have discovered lots of items on amazon.com.mx in the meantime. Some of course are ridiculously overpriced for one reason or another, and others are just not gonna be available here probably ever, but I also stick mostly with items that have free delivery anyway.
And, from what I can find, Amazon says you have to get a Prime account and pay for it separately in each country.

My Amazon Prime is only available on my Amazon.com account. It did not (or does not) carry over to my Amazon.com.mx account. I use the same LOGIN and PSWD for both my US and MX Amazon account. I have tried to get Amazon.com.mx for several years now using my US AMEX card but it is always denied even though I use this same card to make Amazon.com.mx purchases.

Not my experience. Things must have changed and I have been grandfathered to the old ways.
I used a Canadian Mastercard when I signed up.

Re: Amazon Mexico and Prime and credit cards
I'm thinking only Canada and USA have Prime Video. I get it with my USA account but only content that isn't geolocked (without VPN) in the watch while abroad section.
