Ajijic liason for expats
Who is the liason for expats in Chapala? An eventos is being built on Avenida del Pilar in Riberas behind Mirasol and nobody in this neighborhood has been notified. The eventos is located on the Lake at the end of this street, Avenida del Pilar. HELP!! Thank you.

Hector. You can find him on Facebook. Search for Chapala Expat Laison.

Well if they have permits and approval there won't be much that can be done. I don't think advising the neighborhood is necessary here in Mexico. Just be glad it isn't a steelworks shop........

Is that the area location where the owner of the lakefront property was in filling the lake and gaining more land?
So much for the promises of "transparency" by the Chapala Government.

That will make the rest of the lake higher!...less space for water.

There was a weekend camptestre restaurant there for a long time, so it may be safe to assume it's already "zoned" for business. In my world, any event place would never be allowed within town limits.

Yes, lakeside7. They have filled in the lower edge of the property next to the lake and have constructed a boat ramp into the lake. Time to sell, I guess.

And slainte, how do you suppose the got their permits- the good 'ole Mexican way? They were shut down for about a year, and then miraculously, they re-opened and started to build again. Hmmmmm...

Re: Ajijic liason for expats
Probably, however maybe they are operating without a permit. File a complaint and you will find out.

"How" isn´t very important in Mexico, but having the permit is.
Mexico is the place where the old saying of "there is only one way to skin a cat" was put to rest, forever.
No Hmmmmm about it…...just the way it is.

Dump trucks full of rock & fill have been going down that road toward Lake for 4 months. Huge amounts of dirt & rock. If a permit can be obtained to spew untreated raw sewage of an 8-plex onto the road every other night, anything is possible. New construction sites are using any & all empty lots for debris & trash, one short street looks like a toxic dump.. I am outta there - would NEVER recommend living in Riberas - a true health threat, e-coli & dengue for all.
