In other words, he wants to continue robbing the state so his family is well off after he’s gone.

I don´t believe there are 33, or anything close to it, hospitalizations from Chapala. How many are walking around? Who knows, it could be 1, 100, or 1,000.
I thought CBob said the 87 year old man that died, was hospitalized for the dengue???

Reports are saying that Mexico is having a 50% mortality rate of those who are positive. You have to be pretty critical to die.

No country in the world is anywhere near 50%.

Re: More on the virus
As I pointed out before, that death rate doesn't tell the real story, because it is based on active and resolved caes. Of those who either got sick enough to come to someone's notice, i.e. hospitalized or gone to the doctor and been tested positive, the death rate is 26% in Mexico. So if you do get it and get sick, you have a 26% chance of dying here.CanuckBob wrote: They are at 12% on covid19info.live

From last night's Semanario Laguna, google translate,
From La Pagina FB page, posted by them late last evening; source is the Radar Jalisco site.
#Chapala did not register cases of # COVID19 this Thursday, so it remains 33.
#Jocotepec adds another case and reaches 43.
# IxtlahuacánDeLosMembrillos added another case and now it has 32.

Re: More on the virus
I just found out that in spite of easy to acquire testing here in S. Texas you still have to wait 7 days for results. Some experts are saying that you have to start treatment ASAP, maybe as soon as you notice the symptoms. We all have to be pro-active under these circumstances. If nothing else this is worth considering:

I guess living in Mexico these are just numbers...how meaningful they are is any ones guess...bottom line do not be complacent it is a dangerous world out there... the absence of proof is not proof of absence, stay well

This was from March... any further updates? THIS is the most interesting part of the of the letter and I had never read it before...
Thankshydroxychloroquine helps Zinc enter the cell. We know that Zinc slows viral replication within the cell

I posted this a few days ago. If you notice the French saw a 0.9% mortality and they used a different dosage regimen.

Yes, I read it. I am more interested in boosting my zinc levels than having to take hydroxychloroquine. Trailrunner, as a vegetarian, you should read the first link.

Re: More on the virus
Im taking zinc sulfate but will be switching to zinc picolinate after I finish this bottle.
The failed studies with hydroxychloroquine were because it was started too late in the disease process or because they didn’t include zinc.

I check MSNBC and CNN during the day and their charts are # CASES and # DEATHS. Some may be interested in drilling down the data farther, but those basic numbers (and whether they are rising and at what rate) are enough for me.
And I like that the Jalisco data is up-to-date; as of last night they report 33 cases in Chapala while the Feds remain woefully behind by reporting only 22 cases.
Perhaps it is useful for some to look at both data sets.

Re: More on the virus
I was talking about the local stats that you're posting.
THIS is the site I used for world wide... https://covid19info.live/
Scroll down for individual countries.
It shows "confirmed", "INFECTED" (active), "deaths" and "recovered".
You can even show PER 100,000 of population. Click on "choose data".
These sites show meaningful stats. The total confirmed and the total deaths tell you a very small part of the story.

Like I said, for me seeing the # cases and # deaths in timely manner are enough. I find the timeliness very important. The other details may be of interest of others who wish to dive into them. For me, KISS works on this subject.

Yes, I agree, cases and fatalities are the only numbers I'm interested in as well. And where, which is why I like La Pagina chart the best.

Re: More on the virus
I am not even sure what to do with the data on active v. recuperated?? How could anyone not familiar with each individual patient's medical history; the quality of the doctors treating each patient; the actual medical treatment received (drugs, therapies); the care standard of the hospital if hospitalized; have a clue as to why someone is active v. recuperated? If you don't know the WHY, what's the point?
The Federal system keeps track of a few underlying conditions: Asthma, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Obesity, Tobacco use. But what about Cancer? Kidney disease? Alzheimer's? Thyroid disorder? Crohn's disease? Someone on chemotherapy? Or taking any number of quote powerful medications for arthritis, psoriasis, smoking cessation, erectile dysfunction, etc. And, my understanding from the Federal website is while it gives the 4 or 5 underlying conditions, it does not assign them to specific cases and their case status; there's no connection you can make.
There will be volumes and volumes of books written by medical researchers on this virus and it will require painstaking data on each patient, their history, their treatment, etc. to figure out why someone was more prone to getting it, why someone was more likely to die from it, why someone was better able to survive it.
If I can see now in a timely fashion the #'s of cases and deaths, and how fast they are accelerating, I can watch for day-to-day and week-to-week spikes. That will tell me whether I need to change my lifestyle (again). Time to stop getting carry-out and delivery? Time to switch to a 95 mask whenever I go out? Time to hunker down completely and eat from my pantry/freezer supplies, don't even go out to shop?
I don't at all see where the active v. recuperated status of patients whom I, a layman, have absolutely no details about helps me make informed decisions about how to live my life during this pandemic.
