Re: More on the virus
What did you find to be "very important" about this interview? The information was purely anecdotal and the woman had never been tested for covid19. Sure, she may have been sick, but, with what?Jreboll wrote:A video on re-infection with covid-19. Very important to watch:

Re: More on the virus
Every time we experience something and talk about it here it is also anecdotal. Does that make it less valid? Next time you have something to relate, don’t bother, it’s only anecdotal and totally irrelevant. Why did you even bother to post anything?

Re: More on the virus
This doesn't mean you won't get it but it MAY have an impact on severity. BCG vaccination (for TB) MAY be protective against Covid-19 severity.
The BCG vaccination program for Canada was phased out in the 70's.
I have MY BCG scar (at the top of my leg... and it's huge). Do you have yours?

Re: More on the virus
And if you read what Brigitte said on TOB regarding all the people she knows in Chiapas who are suffering from the virus or who have died - there seems to be several thousand missing cases. Useless stats.

All stats are useless. They just give you an idea of what's going on. I suspect that some information is better than being blind to it.

Forgetting all the arguments about the number of cases, the methods used for calculating, the constant bickering about who's right and who's lieing from people who have no clue, etc etc etc, I was talking about [i]this[i] particular set of statistics.
However, upon reflection, I realize it doesn't matter... it just means 24 cases reported, and one less Active than the last time.

And the neighbor friend of mine who was complaining of loss of smell and taste has not been seen by me for a week or two. I usually see her 2 or 3 times a day. I will inquire when I get an opportunity.

But the real secret is to able to pick the winners and not the loser's...maybe if PM Trudeau would come out of hibernation he could see the wood from the trees and make some choices

To lock down or not to lock down, that was the question. Read why lockdown is better....

Re: More on the virus
Well they didn't wear masks or practice social distancing. Hector the Expat Liason stated if they close down again things will become unsafe for the expats as desperation sets in for the local poor people. He said stay at home and keep your doors locked. No thanks!!

Re: More on the virus
Here is his statement from FB.......
Based on the many complaints here and elsewhere, I paid another visit to Christina Pharmacy and warned them that businesses have been shut down and they need to follow the sanitation protocols at all times. The next visit may result in the closing of their doors. Thanks to those who reported to me, because the reglamentos can't be everywhere, but, when they do inspect and find non compliance they are closing businesses.
There is a rumor that the governor may push the emergency button monday or tuesday. At present there is NO official information and it is purely a rumor. Masks are mandatory everywhere. But, the governor has left enforcement up to the mayors.
If governor Alfaro pushes the emergency button, everything will be shut down for 14 days. In that case, I am fearful for the safety of my expat friends. There would be desperate people out and about and I would not want to see anyone a target of the desperate. If the economy is shut down, again, I will absolutely inform you as soon as I know. In that case, you must all stay home for your personal safety and utilize delivery services. You must also secure your homes and wait out the emergency.
Both Governor Alfaro and Mayor Moy have done videos advising the public of the seriousness of the situation as well as the seriousness of the mandated closedown; should it come to pass. This is to hopefully make the public wake up and comply voluntarily.
Stay safe my friends!
Your friend Hector España.

Re: More on the virus
Wow. Overly dramatic or what.
There is a lot of building going on in Riberas and I doubt that the government can close that down so basically he's talking about bricks and mortar stores and restaurants. Really, there just aren't that many of them that enforcement should be such an issue. MANY are following the rules. Those that are not should have one day to comply or a fine will be issued and the business closed until the fine is paid. Period. Rinse and repeat.
And could there please be a renaming of cubreboca to cubreinhalacion. So many just covering their mouths.

Could be but I think there will be civil unrest if they close again.

Re: More on the virus
I've been walking on the Ajijic Malecon at around 8 am this last week. About half the other walkers, both Mexican and Expat, are not wearing masks. Few of the dogs are leashed. So, could we broadly define "civil unrest" are refusal to obey the laws?
