Ferret might hide the loaves at SuperLake for me, which are dark cinammon/raisin loaves, but she will be the one to know if they have returned to the shelves. I haven't seen them lately, but boy are they good.

None lately but then I haven't been in for a couple of weeks either. I believe that the "deli" (La Cremeria Mi Ranchito) in Chapala behind the mercado has EXACTLY the same bread. Schleisman's (?) is the brand and I most definitely spotted it in one of the photos on facebook. Keeps well in the fridge and also in the freezer. I think it's even better than Sunmaid Raisin Bread.

Thanks, too bad they don't deliver. I don't mind the drive, but the parking in that area is tough.
FWIW getting my cinnamon raisin fix with Emma's Deli's bagels. They deliver (though I walk over to fetch). Have to order the day before; deliveries are Mon. and Thurs. only (last I looked). Min. order is 6 bagels for 120p. Lots of flavors. They freeze well. Closest to what I had growing up in immigrant community in the 1960s. Hard to get a bagel as good as hers in the US nowadays, frankly..
But had hoped to find bread, for a change.

Most people don't know, but there is a parking lot on Lopez Cotilla about 1/4 block from the corner where Mi Ranchita is located. It's free if you bring a store receipt. Dirt cheap otherwise.
I was getting bagels delivered from Williamsburg Pies, but they are only boiled and I find them way too starchy. This is an older flyer; I'm sure prices are up.

I am not surprised that they are better. Nothing I have purchased from Williamsburg has been worth a second try.

Just to let you know that Schleisman's bread is the house label at the Cremeria and made by Diego, Juan's son above the Cremeria. Excellent baker. He used to make bagels to rave reviews but don't think he does anymore. Maybe if you requested... .

Thanks TR! Always great to know the origins of something you like.
I love his raisin bread! Just toasted with (good) butter, it's divine. It also takes a grilled cheese sandwich to another level of heaven.
