Water Softener
Anybody know of someone who can service a water softener? Excepting the following:
1. H2Ole - Jackie installed it but can’t service it
2. Pool Stuff - failed attempt
3. JP Home Services - Juergen looked at it and promised a follow up but did not and doesn’t return calls
Thanks

Re: Water Softener
Please post back your experience with Tecno Aqua. I had the same luck as you with the first three contractors. I was out of town for 10 days and when I returned my water now has sulfur smell. Tried chloro but do not know the proper dosage. It is better now. El Mundo del Aqua in front of Ajijic Pemex may have a repair person. The woman in the afternoon after 3 is knowledgable but speaks little English. The worker in the morning speaks English but he may not be as helpful as Teri.

Re: Water Softener
In my case yes the hot water was most of the smell. I disconnected the gas tank WH yesterday and took a look at the anode rod then poured 500ml in the tank of chloro and let it sit overnite. Today it seems good, I think when I was gone I turned down the temp to a low setting or pilot and perhaps that lower temperature was conducive to bacteria growth in the tank. I have a separate solar hot water system and the temps of that tank are usually around 200F. That tank had no foul sulfur odor. Maybe the bacteria thrives at a lower temperature. Maybe something like Legionnaires disease. I don't know, I am no chemist. Like Gilda says "It's always something"

Re: Water Softener
Techno Aqua said I needed a new meter and the resin replaced. They quoted me the repair cost and quoted a new unit. Price difference 1,000 pesos. Huh?
Someone else recommended Sun Quest Energy. Talked to Brian on Saturday. He came out that afternoon and said I did need the resin replaced, but the meter was fine. His plumber was here Tuesday and I’m back in business. Fraction of the Other guys. 333-117-9126
