Market days in Tonala

Tues and Sun OR Thurs and Sun?

And are they open during the virus?

Read in the news today that there were two separate protest gatherings yesterday in Tonala, protesting the lockdown.

Soo.......probably not a good time to go there.

Tonala is open but not the markets which are on Thurs and Sun.

Correct, I should have mentioned it was the tianguistas that were protesting and not the regular brick and mortar establishments.
They only operate the two days of the week, but that is when the most merchandise is more readily available.

Went to Tonala today. Pretty quiet. About 70% of the shops were open but no vendors in that huge parking lot on the west side just after you enter the main drag. I found what I wanted though by driving down some side streets.

Wondering if anyone knows the status of the Thurs/Sunday tianguis in Tonala now?
