The state government of Jalisco and the chamber of commerce of Guadalajara have had a meeting with the following agreed upon recommendations in supermarkets:
* Asimismo pedir a los compradores que entre una sola persona por familia y sobre todo no acudir con niños y adultos mayores a supermercados. (allow one person per family and no kids or elderly people into a supermarket)
* También deberán implementar política de compras máximas en artículos de primera necesidad. (buy sufficient stock of articles of necessity)
* Como medida de prevención se deberá mantener un metro de distancia en las líneas de cajas. (Lineup for cashier must mantain 1 meter between people)
* También se suspende el consumo de alimentos preparados en los propios establecimientos. (eating of preprepared food in these establishments must be suspended)
Have'nt been to Walmart or Soriana in a while, are they also following these rules?

Re: Cases In Ajijic of Corona Virus?
Good advice. Thanks. I noticed the other day that people were lining up like that already at my abarrote.
Now would be a good time for grocery stores to initiate home delivery and for enterprising young people to provide that service.

I don't like his restaurant food and Traitte delivers it anyhow. I hope he will deliver groceries, tho.
Pretty sure Torito still does grocery delivery in Ajijic.

Re: Cases In Ajijic of Corona Virus?
A possible problem in Canada, if there is a continued exponential increase in Covid-19 cases, is that the ICU units might run out of resources (manpower and ventilators) and would in those circumstances have to make decisions on an individual basis as to whether a ventilator would be allocated or not. Eg there are just under 5,000 ventilators in Canada but in the Fraser health district there are 80 something ICU beds equipped with ventilators of which only 8 were available at a specific period. Decisions on the allocation of ventilators (from my reading of news reports) have already had to be made in Italy. From research I believe that Mexico has about 3,500 ventilators but suspect that as long as you have sufficient funds in Mexico, it may be possible to obtain an ICU bed and a ventilator in a private hospital(at least until one either recovers or funds run out) In resource poor situations, community needs usually trump patient autonomy.

Re: Cases In Ajijic of Corona Virus?
Just reminiscing of when I was in the trenches.
I was working in a hospital in Chicago. We were out of ventilators when a patient came in respiratory arrest. He was entubated and I started to Ambubag him. When my shift was over my relief didn’t show up so I bagged for another 8 hours.
I can see that happen again if things go from bad to worse.

omg. Bagging a pt for 8 hrs! Talk about hand cramps. In the old days before onboard auto-venting, I've bagged for a couple of hrs on long distance transports but 8 hours. . .!
Received this last night from a good friend and former co-worker in a northern CA hospital she is a Rad Tech.
"It’s like a war zone at work. Radiology managers are no where to be found, are only available sometimes by phone. Policys are changing by the minute. Not enough PPE. People calling in sick, leaving us extremely short handed. I have never seen anything like this, it’s way worse than the fires. Be glad you aren’t working here."

These were chronic lungers, were only sedated so we’re still breathing shallow. You just had to push in a few cc’s more.

Re: Cases In Ajijic of Corona Virus?
Yep, it's going to hit hard. Huge spike with hopefully a quick burnout.
