New Indian restaurant at Lakeside?
I heard a rumor that there is an Indian restaurant opening, possibly in Riberas. Anyone have info?

Re: New Indian restaurant at Lakeside?
Well, JayBear, your post about a new Indian Restaurant in Riberas received no responses so, as a big fan of East Indian food, I thought I might renew your inquiry since, if you are correct and the restaurant is good, Bubba will be trying it out ASAP. I pass through Riberas often and have yet to spot any place such as you describe.

The cuisine from West India, especially from around Goa is pretty good too. The food from India is so varied it would be a crap shoot as to what we will get.

I saw on Facebook something about an Indian Supper Club but haven’t seen anything lately about it.

Re: New Indian restaurant at Lakeside?
Regarding the variations in Indian cuisine from region to region, it has been my experience that most Indian restaurants in the U.S. seem to favor a milder version of Indian food as found in the northern part of India. My favorite regional Indian cuisine is from Southeastern India as prepared in the city then known as Madras when I as there in the late 60s but now known as Chennai. That is some exceedingly hot and spicy but splendid food. Fry your gizzard, I say. Although I have lived in Mexico at Lake Chapala and in Chiapas for about 20 years and visited other parts of Mexico on occasion, I have yet to have found an East Indian restaurant deserving accolades and, in fact, have found any Indian restaurants to be scarce indeed.

The only Indian food I know of is in the food court by Trips Burgers.

I found it. The name on Facebook is “Indian Accent. Supper Club in Chapala.” You make bookings for Saturday starting at 5:30.

I'll try again: For those who don't use FB, WHERE is the restaurant? The Indian food at the food court is "okay", but I'd like to try the new place, and would appreciate opinions from anyone who's been there.

I think Gringal means "Where is the location of the restaurant?" And I suspect this is not advertised because the owner wishes to keep it a "private" place and not a licensed public place. My understanding is that you reply to the post with your phone number/email and he (she?) will call you, and you can make a reservation directly with the owner/chef.

Re: New Indian restaurant at Lakeside?
That's what I meant...as in "where is it located?" This is sounding a bit odd, like a private place to avoid the normal fees levied on public restaurants???
I think I'll wait until and if they come out in the open.

Gringal, I know you don't do Facebook, either do I, but Mx Chillin (finally get use PC words!) brought their site up. This is real deal Indian food cooked with skill and love. Maybe they are waiting for their permits. Many Mexicans operate for meals out of their homes. Are they called cenadurias? I have no idea if they have permits, but this is some of the best Mexican food you will ever encounter. Again, skill and love, sharing the joy without standing in a kitchen 12 hours a day, stress shredding your health. None of these is likely to be licensed for alcohol, but the ones I knew in Puerto Vallarts just sent someone out to the nearby tienda store to get beer, wine or, I guess, a bottle of hooch. This somehow got around the laws. This "cenaduria" would be a great place to amaze vegitarian type guests.
It is located in Riberas.

If the pictures of the food prepared is anything to go by and the food tastes as good as it looks in the photos we will be very fortunate if they open their doors as a regular restaurant. I’ve eaten at the best Indian restaurants in London and this food looks very good indeed. Now it seems to be as the name implies, a supper club in somebody’s home.

Before moving to Mexico, we lived within commuting distance to Silicon Valley in CA, and because so many employees there were from various parts of India, we had a fine variety of Indian dining establishments. Loved the food and haven't found its like here as yet. Here's hoping!

On FaceBook, it says Supper Club in Riberas. Underground dining. Called INDIAN ACCENT. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Indian-Accent-Supper-club-in-Chapala-346846345996065/about/?ref=page_internal
No address, no maps, but a chat windows is available. I asked "Where are you located, please?". A link to the supposed owner, Ravi Dewan, takes you to a personal FB page with no related information.
Tons of pictures of the food. Pretty weird presence.

Most certainly is, both Municipio and Pueblo.

Only the Municipio, the town of Chapala ends where the town of San Antonio T. begins at the west end of Riberas del Pilar.
There are many Municipios that have towns with the same name. like over the hill to the north, Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos, or Jocotepec to the west.

I got a response from Indian Accent. Definitely in Riberas. Dinner "events" at her house. Up to 8 people. Next is November 10. $350. BYOB. No address provided.
