Bank recommendations

Looking for a bank at lakeside to open an account, other than HSBC. Recommendations please.

Multiva; ask for Monica.

Multiva, Intercam,  CI Banco,  the three best.

Because I want both a brokerage account and a Bank account at the same office, I chose Actinver,

You can do both at Multiva and Intercam, probably CI Banco as well.

Without a doubt.  Several people have had problems with Actinver.  If you don´t have an investment account with them, their exchange rates are the worst.

I know people hate Bancomer BUT if you travel around south america Bancomer sister bank Continental allows low cost withdrawl from Continental ATMs. Intercam seems to be expanding its ATM network in Mexico.

I personally like Monica very much .... but I'm leaving Multiva for a variety of reasons and probably shifting to Intercam.

We used Actinver for the Chili Cook Off banking until one time we made a large deposit that was counted several times by our treasurer, their staff and signed off on. They contacted us a day later and said it was $30,000 short. We asked them to check their cameras which recorded the entire transaction. They said they would but never got back to us and refused to honor our deposit slip. We dumped them immediately.

Well, one day at the bank I won't mention, I was transferring money to someone's external account. I checked and they said they got the money, but I could not find a withdrawal from my account. The reason I could not find a withdrawal from my account is because they took it from someone else's account. I'm glad I ended up in a different spot than you.

I've been with Actinver for maybe 16 years, where I have two bank accounts and a brokerage account. I have never had a problem. I have always had excellent service.

CB, that is a shameful story! You should have gone to the press, and I dont mean the GR, more like the Informador. Full page. Telling the whole story. Actinver has been getting away with this crap for years!

Before it was Actinver, it was Loyds, and we used it for awhile. Then, it was sold and became Actinver. Service quality deteriorated, mistakes were made, delays and confusion caused frustratioin and we closed our accounts. Never did open another account elsewhere, and lived happily thereafter using ATMs (with fees reimbursed) and occasional transfers for big stuff; like cars or houses.

There have been far too many complaints about Actinver for me to have anything to do with them.

Me too. When it comes to my bank I don't even want to hear ONE complaint.

Now, counting CB, I personally know 3 accounts that have been robbed. My Canadian friends for 30,000, another Canadian friend who they dodged paying his wife's life insurance policy, and the Chili Rip Off. Too bad, so sad, we had a bad employee.

I wonder why HSBC is not an option?

Said she would look into it. Then said something about the camera not working, blah, blah, blah. At the time pursuing it further through legal channels was going to cost more than it was worth. This was about 5 years ago.

I am only one person and I know three victims personally, imagine how many there really are!

I guess I have been lucky. No problems in 15 plus years at Actinver. But you all do have me a little worried.
