Scotia Bank ATM
If the ATM is out of service as it is most times, send a tweet to https://twitter.com/ScotiabankApoya ,and notify them.

And in fact I have found the Scotia ATM to be far more reliable over the past 18 months or so than it was previously. I use it at least once or twice per week and can only think of two or three times that it was "out of service" which usually meant out of money. This tends to happen on Mondays after a busy weekend.

Re: Scotia Bank ATM
I used to use the Scotia Bank ATM all of the time using my two debit cards, each linked to a very small balance so that should a crook have a card-reader hidden in the ATM there would not be much they could link to.
My bank? Bank of America. Then when I got a new card with a chip therein, the new card would not work in Scotia Bank's ATM. A year later when my other card was replaced with a chip therein, Scotia Bank refused it too. Bank of America, checked my cards and I use them up north and never a problem. I think I will try using the cards again, it's been a couple of years, and I have been wiring funds directly to my Actinver Brokerage account where I get a better rate of exchange than I do when I wire it to my Actinver Bank Account.
However there are times on a weekend when I might need a few pesos and it would be nice to know if Scotia Bank will again read my B/A debit cards.

Re: Scotia Bank ATM
MxPete you are confusing me. Do you have a Scotia Bank card? If you do and have had issues using that card in Mx they cannot be resolved in Mexico. Issues surrounding a CDN Scotia card have to be resolved at a Scotia bank in Canada. My esposa's new CDN Scotia Bank Visa card had issues in Bucerias. She had forgotten her PIN. Dah. Stuff happens. The bank there could not resolve and she could not resolve over the phone with Canada. She had to resolve it in Canada. Heads up. Do not forget your PIN.

"Times on weekends when I need a few pesos" I could never live like that. I keep a stash of about 30,000 at home always-in case I need it for little or big things.

Re: Scotia Bank ATM
No, I don't have a Scotia card. I have Bank of America cards that always used to work. And good gracious, I would never have $30,000 hidden at home. Almost never get more than a few thousand at a time.

Re: Scotia Bank ATM
30,000 pesos is not much. I just had a friend spend 25000pesos to get an initial assessment at a local hospital and get himself transferred to Guadalajara

You would never get to it. Many people keep a stash at home in case of a medical emergency, the ATMs aren't working, etc.Trailrunner wrote:Where do you live, cypress??
