Swimming. I joined the pool :) drip drying as I type, no sled necessary. Preferrable modest swimsuit and a gorra...geez, never worn one before. Where can i buy one?

Hocks:
I used to sell "sleds" for Arctic Cat. Way too much noise and it requires playing in that four letter word - SNOW!

That model was about ten years after I went on to greener pastures. Now give me a pair of skis and I can ignore the cold!

I'd rather downhill ski but I like cross country skiing...or skating (both ice and roller).
Although I liked water skiing, I once got both my shoulders pulled out of the socket. Hurt so much I never did it again. Love flying over the water windsurfing!
What the hell did ya bring this subject up for? All that stuff that we used to do and enjoy is why we're walkin' funny today........but, damn, it was worth it!

Actually now that you mention it I have done far more snow skiing than water skiing in the past 5 years. I suppose I enjoy them equally however I always prefer the sun and surf over the freeze. I am mostly a sunny day skier. We have a couple of great local mountains here in Vancouver.

Oh yeah! God's country out there in Supernatural B.C.! Used to be able to see the lights from our apartment for the night skiing on Grouse Mountain...having a brain fart trying to remember the name of the other one. (Edited to add...Cypress???)
Skiing Whistler spoiled me for life...big old softy...loved the way the trails meandered. Didn't like Blackcomb nearly as much. We only lived in Vancouver for 18 months but the ski season that we were there lasted from November 15th 'til the May long weekend and we skiied (sp????) every single weekend...best ski season of my life. It was a bummer going back to Blue Bump in Collingwood, Ontario.

Downhill skiing.........hah! Memories, sweet memories of times gone by.
Sailing: got no boat and this ain't no ocean.
Well, okay. The present:.........walking. The sport part is dodging the long leashes on the dogs whose oblivious owners are looking off into space or talking. Quite sporting, sometimes. Especially considering the added attraction of cobblestones, holes and guywires.

Re: What Is Your Favorite Sport?
For me... snowboarding was the ultimate thrill ride, big bumps on a powder day! ... and heck... come to think of it... rock climbing was pretty exciting too
Alas, our local areas what were real old fashioned little gems have become too successful altogether... for me at any rate... and I do like bein' warm an awful lot.
I still have my Arbor snowboards... the "Woody" and the" Element", It's the call of the wild...but for now...
riding a townie in San Carlos and in Salida... great way to get around.... go get the groceries, ride to the coffee shop, Check out a local gallery... life is good.
Love to watch pro cycling too... Salida just hosted the first stage of the 2011 USA Pro Cycling Challenge. it was huge! They're coming back next year

Wow, I can't believe it not one mention of Hockey, that's my favorite, to watch to play, don't play much anymore, but I did regularly till I was well into my forties. CB says he doesn't like hockey any more because our Canucks stumbled in the finals this year.
He probably won't be around here next year when they finally take the CUP.

Does lifting a margarita glass qualify as a sport? If so, that's mine.

Absolutely, as long as you don't combine your sport with Gringal's walking sport...then it becomes an extreme sport with hazardous consequences.

My take is that if you need ropes and pitons or wheels and a hot engine, it is a sport. If not, it's a game.

From my observations, getting into "pizzing matches" on forums may just be one of the most popular sports at the Lake! Not long on physical exercise but maybe good for exercising the brains?

"My take" was just that. My own personal opinion, if anyone took umbrage to my comment, what can I say? Too bad. By the way, sipping anejo, is a pleasant pass time. At my age I've had to give up motorsports. I miss that rush.
