Unable to get money out of the ATM

Tried to get money out of atm's and got a message that said unable to communicate with my bank. Anyone else having problems. It is a US bank.

If the internet is down at that location, the ATM won't work.

Power was out all over the place with the high winds; I know some of us lost internet too; stands to reason the ATM wouldn't work.

Go back tomorrow , works for me.

Ditto on down Internet in Chapala Haciendas. Lucky I have cell service and a back-up generator when the power went out the night before last.

Not to mention: Easter.

When the power outage is more than just a local event, even cel towers will be without power, rendering your cel phone useless. Of course, you will jump into your car to drive around, looking for a signal, only to discover that the gasoline stations cannot pump gasoline, and you are hovering on "E". You take a break and enter the restroom, where you discover that the local well pumps are also dependent upon electricity, and there is no water. The grocery store closes, as its clerks don't know how to function with paper and pencil......... Then, it begins to get worse.

"Doomsday Scenario."

I remember this whenY2K came and a lot of people thought every system based on not having a date of 2000 plus would go down. I know since my wife them had been a COBAL programmer, which was out of date. She had offers all over the place to come and work on the COBAL units, for serious $$. She didn't do it.
