Another dental story

So a couple of months ago I cracked a molar in half. The whole back of it was gone. It didn't really bother me so I did nothing about it. Starting yesterday it started to get really sensitive to hot/cold then this morning it was just aching. Since I wasn't happy with my last dentists' equipment or prices someone recommended that I go see Dra. Maria Villa on Colon in Ajijic. I went by there at 11am and told her I wanted an extraction. She said her 11am just cancelled so she could look at it right away. 30 minutes later the job was done. Very gentle and professional. I'll be back........only $1000 pesos. Viva Mexico!!

Nah back molar one can ever see. Yes, I've been to Dra. Candy before. This was all about another good dentist within a 4 minute walk from home.

Well I've had another molar removed many years ago and not a problem. I think that is more of a concern for a growing teen. I know people who had teeth pulled 30 years ago and no fall out over it. I believe it is just a fable to sell implants. Of course if it was visible I would replace it.

I like Dr. Jose who interned at Dental Express. He is on 16 September 2 minutes West of LCS. Simple extraction is $500.

I was very impressed w/him at D.E. and he is still working on my (big) mouth.

Prices are fair and not sky-high as w/some Ajijic dentists. He also brings in specialists when needed.

If you haven't been to him lately you will be surprised by his price increases. I went to him for a cleaning 4 weeks ago and he charged $500 mxn. It used to be $300. Also his equipment appeared to be bought at used surplus sale from the 60's. Nice guy though......

You May be right. I went to him a month ago and got a 3 tooth Bridge. Cost $8,300. Seemed very high but I don't fault him. I didn't price shop.

He has said that business is slow. Often people/companies try to make up for a lower income by raising prices to make up the difference.

Lesson learned.
