Pancho's NY Menu
I'm home with a dead car in the garage and a gas leak somewhere in the propane system waiting for the plumeros so I can't go ask them myself . . . could someone going there please ask if they are going to do the turkey thing for New Years that they did for Christmas?
Mil gracias!

Pancho wasn’t there but I asked the girl at the prepared food counter who checked with the guy behind the deli. He said they were going to do it New Year’s. I would have preferred to ask Pancho directly but...

I don’t know but will check if I go back. I would think it would be New Year’s Eve but can’t swear to it. Bought some good chicken salad today. I’m done cooking for a while. Pancho’s shelves are looking pretty sparse but the suppliers are probably slow due to the holidays.

Trailrunner, if this can lighten your spirit, I am in the process of finishing 6 apartments. I did a leak test with a precision gauge on the pipe that runs from the kitchen to the laundry room (pipe is in the concrete) and yes all 6 units have a small leak. So.....I will be installing stationary tanks on either side of each apartment !...and will be using copper pipes.

Re: Pancho's NY Menu
Wow. Lots of work but safety is foremost.
Plumbers said water pipes corroded because they were laid too close to the concrete and then gas pipes corroded because galvanized pipe was used and they were laid right next to the water pipes - so replacing with copper too. Sounds like same issue. Suerte.

When I had water and gas lines run in our remodel I had the workers run them thru PVC sleeves where they were going to be run thru concrete/cement..So far so good..

Thanks, I will ask Toño about that. I bet he'll say if we use copper we won't need to do that pero vamos a ver. Seems like a good idea to me.

Re: Pancho's NY Menu
It is an excellent idea and adds insulating space around the water carrying pipe. In fact, you could go a step further and inject foam insulation into the PVC protective pipe for added inslation of hot water pipes, underground, in walls, or especially on the roof.
