Moon Restaurant
Went today for lunch at the new Moon Restaurant and we were the only people there. First, the good news- The waiter, Caesar, was excellent. Very friendly and service oriented.
Unfortunately, the food was very far below the waiter quality. The briskit was served as a chunk about 1" thick, rather than thinly sliced. It was as tough as a non tenderized shoe and was inedible. The hamburger was only fair and was much smaller than a quarter pounder.
In fairness, it was explained that the chef was off and they did change the briskit for another item. Still, a very poor first impression and an unlikely return visit.

Re: Moon Restaurant
My wife and I went there the other night. Like the previous post we thought that Caesar was great. The food, a cheese burger and fries and an order of chile fries was a big disappointment.
Would we go back? Probably not in the near future.
Caesar did say that the regular chef was not in today.

When are restaurants ever going to learn. No excuses. Consistency, Consistency, Consistency. Applies to quality of food, cost and service. Every.Single.Day.

When the chef is absent, a restaurant should close unless the other kitchen employees are qualified to prepare his recipes.

Re: Moon Restaurant
Did I read the word "should" there, RV?

Exactly. It sounds a little like this chef might be absent permanently.

Re: Moon Restaurant
I went there a couple days ago to have lunch. I asked what kind of beer they had! they showed me bottles of cheap beer. So i went back to the brewhouse or the smokhouse for lunch!!!
Re: Moon Restaurant
I do think they should, rather than just 'could', since they would get fewer criticisms for being closed off schedule, than for having their meals off target. Reputation is everything!

Re: Moon Restaurant
What a shame. They started off so good during their dry run. It seems things have declined since "officially" opening last Sunday.

We went there yesterday late afternoon - excellent pulled pork, chili/cheese fries (chili without beans) - Cesar's good service, a win all around.

Re: Moon Restaurant
That's good to hear as my two experiences there during their "soft opening" have also been positive.
