Cannabis-New Law Coming?
The incoming Mexican government has plans to legalize cannabis as part of its peace and security initiative.
You can link the full text of the law under discussion from http://www.senado.gob.mx/64/gaceta_del_senado/documento/85686
Here are a few points from the proposed law that I found interesting:
You can carry up to 30 grams of cannabis in public and have more than that where you live.
Driving under the influence of THC could land you in jail from 12 to 36 hours.
You can grow up to 20 plants for personal use but must register the fact with the authorities, “...en el padrón anónimo”. (Max 480 grams / year). (I do not understand how you register your plants in an anonymous registry. Can someone explain this?)
No commercialization of edibles.
You can smoke cannabis in public places where tobacco smoking is permitted.
Stores will be licensed for the sale of recreational cannabis & its derivatives & accessories exclusively.
Medical cannabis will require a prescription.
The percentage of THC and the ratio of THC to CBD will be regulated. (No details in the proposed law)
Considering that the current Canadian government was elected with legal cannabis as one of its promises and that one month after legalization, there are still few stores and a shortage of product, it could be a matter of years before we can walk into a store and buy cannabis here but it's something to look forward to.

Wow. Awesome. Dream come true. Pero, vamos a ver.
This is the part I love . . ."You can grow up to 20 plants for personal use but must register the fact with the authorities, “ . . . and watch your crop vanish overnight.
