Crabgrass Killer?
I know it may sound silly, but I just paid a lot of money to have my yard sodded and it is full of crabgrass. Not what I had in mind.
I know that Ortho makes a crabgrass control product, but I can't find it anywhere here in Mexico. Anyone any ideas - for the Ortho product or anything else that works?

Crabgrass control products kills St. Augustin grass which is a large pct. of pastos in gardens in Mexico.

The gardner here is refusing to buy grass right now because he checked all the nurseries and he says the grass is bad quality and full of plaga. Where did you buy your grass?

Re: Crabgrass Killer?
Maybe a stupid question but in Canada we would buy sod because growing from seed would take too long to fill in, given the relatively short season however here in Mexico wouldn't grass from seed grow very quickly? Why buy sod?

because some people do not want to deal with a bunch of dirt to water so with pet mud for many days or months.. I put seeds in places I want more grass or bare spots and also plant some grass from the rest of the garden but if you have a larger surface it is a mess..mud with water , dust when dry..

The quality of sod here is not the same as up north... Mostly St Augustine grass was what we received when replanting after our expansion... Its OK and is green ...

Grass here if different that what you may be used to up north. Because of the climate. Creeping grass and thick bladed grass does well here and is not what we term "crabgrass".

Re: Crabgrass Killer?
yes the grass here is fine but I went shopping for some last week and the quality right now is awfull and check it out closely , it is full of other plants which my garner calls plaga. It is not a good time to buy grass locally.
I never had grass up north so I am not comparing to grass from other areas..My gardner is from Oaxaca and he told me nottobuy right now. He said the quality wasawful and I agreed with him after doing the nurseries.
