Hospital
I know! I know, I know. You've heard this a thousand times. We're going to have a hospital. A fairly significant hospital. I know it's gonna happen because I'm going to the ground breaking on Sunday. I don't know how many floors/beds or anything yet. It will be owned and operated by a group of doctors.
The hospital will be over by Hole in One. Just east of there is an arroyo, a little street, then right there on the corner is where it will be.

Re: Hospital
I saw them making walkways out of white and red rock. Wonder why nothing ever happened with the building east of Maskaras that was supposed to be some kind of medical facility.

What kind of hospital? Private? IMSS? SP?

Re: Hospital
Having a "HOSPITAL" built in Riberas is not too feasible. The infrastructure is not laid out and will not be put in due to the costs associated with placing working sewage in that area. That is the main reason why that building close to Maskaras never got off the ground as a "clinic" or "hospital". A septic tank(s) for a real hospital would cost MUCHOS DOLARES. Our research has shown that that area is less than well suited for such a project. But I applaud anybody who may rise to meet the challenge.
Bigger news is yet to come. Stay tuned.

Re: Hospital
That would be a blessing. Perhaps they would offer imaging like mammograms, CT scans, MRI's, bone density tests.

Re: Hospital
You can already get most of those at the new diagnostic lab in Plaza Interlago!

Re: Hospital
Is anyone providing MRI's there? My doc is suggesting going to Guadalajara center for a spinal issue, and the thought of that kind of day is not a pleasure. I might go for it if it's closer.

Re: Hospital
MRI and CT machines are REALLY expensive and probably not cost effective in this small community.

Re: Hospital
Yup, true. There are very good fully equiped diagnostic labs in Guadalajara. e.g. Tolsa, Bañuelos.

Re: Hospital
I don't doubt that the machines are too expensive for most medical groups here. The cost of an MRI in Guadalajara is also expensive: How about $5200 pesos, added to the cost of blood work, a driver for the day and the pure hell of the process along with the drive. Yuck.
One can wish, though, si?

The price is dependent on the exact details of the diagnostic required.

Re: Hospital
Yes, I enjoyed the ceremony too!
The hospital will be built in 2 phases, first phase expected to be completed in a year. The ER will be 4 bed initially and 10 beds for admits initially. Diagnostic Imaging will be extensive with MRI and CT. There will not be a Cath Lab but they expect to receive chest pain pts, work them up, stabilize them, and transport to cath lab in Guad by their ambulance, then return the pt here for recovery and follow up.
Happy docs, architect, and presidente:

True, I would imagine, but a friend had brain (stroke victim) and spinal (compressed disc problem) MRI's, and they were in the $4,000.00 peso range.

Re: Hospital
I asked my doctor for a quote on the cost of the one she wants me to have and she replied: $5200 pesos. When the new hospital has this equipment, will everyone have access to the facilities or must they have signed up for the Maskaras Clinic plan?

Re: Hospital
I really hope this happens but the investment will be huge. The fotos shows very large buildings. Cant see how that size can be justified in lakeside.
If theres 14 rooms available in the first stage even full i cant see how it can pay for itself.
So is it maskaras investment fully or partly or none?
Intrigued to find out what chapalameds news is!
Will be great to have all types of scans done here and have facilities for major health emergencies.

Re: Hospital
I forgot to say there will also be dialysis.
It has been invested in and will be owned and operated by doctors, one of which is Carlos Garcia. Maskaras Clinic will close. I wouldn't worry about the money if I were you.
Chapalamed is going to tell you the property where the vivero Flor Exotica is will be a hospital too. That's the story.
