"Hurricane Harvey Tropical Cyclone Update
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL092017
600 PM CDT Fri Aug 25 2017
...6 PM CDT POSITION AND INTENSITY UPDATE...
...HARVEY BECOMES A CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE...
...SUSTAINED HURRICANE-FORCE WINDS SPREADING ONTO THE MIDDLE TEXAS
COAST...
Air Force Reserve Reconnaissance aircraft data indicate that Harvey
has become a category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of
130 mph (215 km/h).
A station at Aransas Pass run by the Texas Coastal Observing
Network recently reported a sustained wind of 74 mph (119 km/h) with
a gust to 96 mph (154 km/h)."
The scary thing about this hurricane is that the "cone" is showing the centre hanging around and meandering along the Texas coast for quite a few days.

A friend lives in Port Aransas. I feel so badly for her. Been there, done that and lost everything in 1995 with Hurricane Marilyn and couldn't evacuate. It's devastating.

My friend in Port Aransas evacuated yesterday and they have no idea when they will be able to go home or what they will have to go back to. The entire island was evacuated. Carry, I suspect we may have the same friend.

I think so. It doesn't sound good and I hope they had good insurance.

I hope that everyone is aware of what is going on in Houston and other areas of Texas. I hope that you're in contact and know that your friends and loved ones are safe.
Somehow, Pueblo Magico status seems trivial by comparison...

Heard from all three of my Texas friends. Two were evacuated and status of their homes is unknown. They each have no idea when they can return to see what they still have. The third is at home, no flooding and some minor wind damage. This is going to be a long and difficult time for many people.

Did you guys see the picture of the patients sitting around in the nursing home with the water in their laps? They were rescued then.

A friend in Houston is in her neighbor's second floor (maybe the attic by now) and the water was rising. Sad.

Didn't Ron Baker and his girlfriend go there and build a home? (PA)

They evacuated and are safe about 300 miles away. They know their house was damaged. They have no idea how bad it is.
