Tor (anonymity network) For when you need to protect "Your Privacy"
Tor is a system intended to enable online anonymity. Tor client software routes Internet traffic through a worldwide volunteer network of servers in order to conceal a user's location or usage from someone conducting network surveillance or traffic analysis. Using Tor makes tracing Internet activity, including "visits to Web sites, online posts, instant messages and other communication forms", to the user more difficult.[7] It is intended to protect users' personal freedom, privacy, and ability to conduct confidential business, by keeping their internet activities from being monitored.[8] The software is open-source and the network is free of charge to use.

The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked.
The Tor Browser Bundle lets you use Tor on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser, and is self-contained. The Tor IM Browser Bundle additionally allows instant messaging and chat over Tor. If you would prefer to use your existing web browser, install Tor permanently, or if you don't use Windows, see the other ways to download Tor.
I don't think this work with G-Chrome..Not a prob since I have both installed, It'll encrypt everything that goes across the network. But it's really slow to the point where you'll probably get fed up with it eventually. Therefore I use on a as needed basis for financial stuff when on other peoples WiFi..Chrome is faster anyways.

I use AnchorFree (Hotspot Shield) and haven't noticed any reduction in speed. It also allows me to view movies on Hulu!

Lizzy, that little feral baby showed up at Thanksgiving and we wound up adopting him. We dubbed him "Pancho"; now he weighs (probably) 15 to 20 pounds!!! And he has become a house cat -- hardly ever wants outside.
