Re: Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria
Good advice Brigitte.
When I worked at Scarborough General Hospital in microbiology, I isolated a Salmonella sendai while working the weekend alone. It was so rare that I did the serology five times. Then I read the details of the "patient" and freaked. He was working in the hospital cafeteria in food preparation. A new immigrant from China who had always worked in food prep and was completely asymptomatic. I had to phone down to get him out of there pronto and then, when the CDC confirmed my find, the hospital let him go.
However, I do not know what other kind of work he was capable of doing. It was just too risky for the hospital even if he had undergone treatment.
You just never know... and maintaining a good healthy immune system is your first defense.

Re: Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria
Yes another good way to get it is via people who are asymptomatic and prepare food..You cannot be careful when you eat out that much as people handle your food and there is always a chance someone who is sick does it... I know you cannot stop living but.. how are you careful when eating salads out?

It is your job. You trashed the place without offering any reasons. "Hit and run" critiques are unfair.
Let's hear what's wrong with A.C.? I've already said I used it with no complaints.

Another recommendation for Ajijic Clinic. I have known many people, friends and family, that been have treated in emergencies and other medical problems, successfully, over many years.
I would be the last person to disparage them. What's the point, if (some) people find their service, satisfactory.

There is even less of a point to disparaging them if you won't even say why you do. Just saying you won't go near the place but refusing to say why is useless. This is especially true if at the same time you also recommend Cruz Roja which has been slammed on this and TOB, including by the same poster.

Which shows why opinions of medical facilities, AND opinions of opinions are equally important because of the subjectivity, and in this case, the Trumpsonian, "I just know". Not exactly a "white paper" on the subject.

Re: Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria
HAHAHA Good morning, fellow posters!
My opinion is based on my own due diligence, which is 13 years of observation and personal experience. As said, do your own due diligence. I never said YOU shouldn't go there, I said I wouldn't go there. ymmv lol
If your due diligence tells you it is a place with an honest administration, good medicine, and good ethics, then have at it! It'll be a match made in heaven.

Same answer; different wording. No specifics.
Reminds me of restaurant "review" posts in which the poster says that they won't eat there without ever saying why. Dark images are conjured with no evidence. Implications of misdeeds or ethical faults. Poster implies special knowledge.

Re: Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria
Yes, "poster implies special knowledge" while condescending to those who don't have it. Since I don't have 13 years to observe and gather insider information I will not worry if I find myself at AC as I have on a couple of occasions in nine years.
Although, let's give the poster her due. She is good at implying the administration is dishonest, doctors there do not practice good medicine, and the place lacks good ethics while at the same time she maintains plausible deniability.

Oh, no! Not the like/dislike buttons! We're just starting to have fun with them. Sorry, sometimes I forget where I am -- not unusual at my age.

I nearly died from typhoid many years ago due to the high fever. I had to be air-evaced to Guadalajara and straight to a hospital.
