Power outage in Ajijic centro

Anyone else? It is a complete power outage, not a brown out as usual. I have reported it to CFE.

BTW.....for those that like to stay connected to the internet even during power outages learn how to set up your cell phone as a "wifi hotspot". This enables your laptop etc. to access the internet via the data network on your cell phone. As long as your not watching video's or downloading huge files it doesn't use much data to just surf websites such as this one.

How do you make the connection, from phone to computer, bluetooth or hard wire? I've never really understood that term.

Your laptop or whatever connects via wifi to your cell phone. Once you have "enabled wifi hotspot" on your phone it will show up as a wifi source on your laptop. Your phone will give you a password to key in just like you may need to other wifi connections. It's very easy.

On an iPhone go into SETTINGS. On the top panel of choices you will see PERSONAL HOTSPOT. Select that and then follow instructions to create a password. You will subsequently see it as a choice when you try to log onto the Internet on you computer. Similar I am sure on an Android device. Easy peasy.

After a two and a half hour outage, it's BAAACK.

How we do miss it when it's gone.

I put in a small battery backup system using 8 deep cell Trojan Golf Cart batteries each rated a 6 volts. The one nice thing about this is that during power outages, my solar panels still work. They feed the battery back up system either providing some or all of the power needed. At night only the batteries supply power of course.

The outage was because CFE was installing a new post on Constitución... they needed to cut power in order to complete the job.

Power was out in Chapala Haciendas for at least 12 hours.
