start of the rainy season--guess when?

I am ready. My roof is done, my tinaco is cleaned, my aljibe is cleaned and my new gutter goes up tomorrow.

BTW, on this date (May 12th) last year, there was a gully washer of over 2 inches in La Huerta. It blew off a 1 metre by 2 metre skylight and caused me a lot of grief by soaking all the important papers that I had removed from my desk to pack. They were sitting on a table directly below the skylight. I got up to find out what was happening and turned on the light/fan. The fan started flicking water at me and I was standing in over an inch of water while I surveyed the damage in front of me. Crap. Turned off the fan/light and went back to bed.

Maybe Spencer will weigh in on what federal and state law designates, what is the rainy season, so as to avoid demandas occurring over the distribution of the grand prize.
Also the degree of the wind (northeast) direction should be determined, so as, someone doesn't grab the prize erroneously if the wind gets too far north or too far east.
Any body remember the movie "The Ship of Fools".

In Ireland, we have a contest to predict when the rainy season will end.  It started a couple of hundred years ago and still no winner has been declared.
It's a multigenerational contest that you pass your rights down to your heirs.

No, it will be the first day of that 3 day run (within 7 days) that will be determined as the start.

Last night's storm was awesome! My original prediction was June 9th, so I may end up being wrong by a couple of days. As CBob said, we need two more storms like last night during this next week. If that happens, then June 7th would be considered the official start.

We'll just have to wait and see now! (although I would really like to win the wine!)

It ain't bad de-feathered, fried in garlic butter with Worchestershire sauce and Tabasco. Had it a number of times over the years.

Well, that had to be the shortest rainy season on record! Four days in a row of rain, then we've had nothing for a week! I guess we gotta start doing a rain dance again!
