A NEILL JAMES SCHOLAR'S 15TH OPENING ART EXHIBIT
ANTONIO CARDENAS PERALES was one of the six original scholars of Neill James who still live and paint at Lakeside today. The other five were Dionicio Morales, Victor Romero, Jesus Lopez Vega and his brother, Antonio Lopez Vega, as well as Javier Zaragoza. He was an early student at the Biblioteca Publica and his talent earned him a scholarship at the Institute of San Miguel de Allende and he finished his degree at the Guadalajara School of Arts in 1975. Antonio’s entire life, as student, teacher and successful gallery owner has been devoted to art. His work has been shown—and garnered prizes—in individual and collective exhibits all over Mexico. Over the past 30 years, he has helped many young people reach their goals as artists and currently teaches classes at DIF in Chapala.
