#4 Restaurant - gone

Looks like something has happened with the restaurant and there have been officials, police and trucks busy this evening emptying the restaurant out into the street.  Too bad since we live across the street and have always thought the devil we know is better than the devil we don't.

I didn't think they's last this long.

Me either, but I didn't think they'd go out like that! Maybe they owed.

Sounds like a repossession to me.

Oh, they owed all right.

The clean out went on all night and rather noisily.  I was not surprised they closed before the high season but I was surprised that someone took everything out of the building.

I did not stay up long enough to see whether or not they took out the kitchen however if they didn't and anyone reading this knows anything about it I  know someone who wants to buy a commmercial kitchen.  Contact me por favor.

They hadn't paid rent in 2 years or paid suppliers so the landlady finally got an order against them, per an ex-employee.)

Kim says the kitchen wasn't maintained per one of the cooks but she thinks the kitchen stuff went too.

What a great dining room sadly gone, great food and ambiance reasonable prices, Better with Kim. Wonder where the chef' will end up.

Funny how landlords get when you don't pay the rent for a couple of years. Suppliers are wierd about their unpaid bills, too.

The owners of the restaurant probably needed rescuing more than  the cat.

I have not seen the cat so someone has come for it or someone took it with them. If it is still around I will contact the fins and feathers and fur facebook people. The cat can come and go under the main front door or over the rooftops. THanks.

I certainly wouldn't patronize a place that didn't pay their creditors for 2 years, if at all. I always thought it sucked under the new ownership anyhow. Went there once and never again.....

Went there exactly once with friends when there was a featured artists' show a few years ago. Decided to have drinks first and dinner later. The regular bartender wasn't there, but did they tell us that? Noooo. Worst drinks ever. My intuition told me to order a beer. Price for bad drinks.......very stiff.
We decided to go elsewhere for dinner.

It appears to have catered to a different clientele than we are, so I can't say I miss it, but like Bob, there is no way I'd patronize any place if I knew they were stiffing people on their rent or other bills. If they are re-opening elsewhere, I hope the new landlord is forewarned.

Good point. I hope that new landlord is warned too. Me thinks suegarn might want to take on this task.

Why me?

Friend of mine who is on their mailing list just received their announcement of reopening at new location.
They should be leaving town and hiding their heads in shame, but no. Lots of nerve there.
