A new Restaurant 4? Empty A new Restaurant 4?

In this weeks GDL Reporter there is an advert on Page 8 (I think) for a new Restaurant 4 in the same location as the old one. It says they are going to do a grand opening next Friday.

Anyone have the scoop on this? You may recall that there were rumors someone was going to reopen the place before the original closed.

The same person is reopening the same restaurant with the same name in the same place? No Canada and new restaurant up there after the farewell concerts, dinners and celebrations? So, really, Number 4 just closed for a month or so?

I can see I'm not the only one who finds this more than a little strange and amusing. The original Four was over staffed and over priced IMO. A repeat of that will probably garner the same problems of profitability and sustainability. So....

Fortunately it is far enough away. Sorry to disappoint you.

Says they are opening at 6PM next Friday with "live everything." Ad is on Page 7 of the GDL Reporter, bottom right hand corner.

The problem before was too pricey and when you went in there it was pretty obvious the place was overstaffed. With the same ownership, it is hard to see how any of this will change.

We enjoyed our dining experiences at 4, but would have given it much more support if its schedule had allowed us even one day to indulge our preference for long, leisurely afternoon meals during the week.

I thought #4 was priced right and the food was excellent as was the service.  There was often good entertainment too.  Since there's a new partner I don't think it will be the same as before.  Kim has always had a partner.  So I don't think it's the "same person doing the same thing." Even if it is, it works for me.

David I agree back in the day the service was great, steaks perfectly cooked, BUTT....getting approx a large tablespoon of mashed taters pissed me off.   Other than that we are on the same page.Beer Blackeye Dead Horse   I want a baker as an option! At those prices certainly reasonable.

If there was a good source of Idaho russet potatoes here I'm sure she'd offer them.  Mexican potatoes are sh^t.

The folks from Secret Garden that sell the baked potatoes at the Tuesday Market get them all of the time in Guad.

Superlake has not had Idaho russets for a couple of years.  They now often have russets from Sonora.  They're good for mashed but too small to be bakers.
