I am certain i saw a link to a great webcam with live views of the lake on here . I have tried search option but cant find it. It wasnt chapala weather or the hotel cams. Think was another weather station. Any one help? Thanks.

Not great right now, but usually very nice view of the lake.

Great webcam! With a magnifying glass, I think I can see my house!

Thanks for posting that. I look at it often. I would put it as an icon on my desktop but I haven't figured out how to do that yet in Windows 10.juanrey wrote:Is this what you were looking for?

Just click on the star at the end of the " addresses bar" this will mark it as "favorite"...

Also Guys, those are links for the webcam to see "PLAZA DE ARMAS" in Guadalajara, and to see MINERVA in Guadalajara too. Enjoy!

Of course but that has nothing to do with putting an icon on your desktop-does it?.

Re: Lake view webcam
The only browser that I have used that will allow you to highlight and drag a link from favourites to the desktop is Internet Explorer 11. I just did it and now have a desktop icon to the Webcam. I am using Windows 10 with the classic shell that ComputerGuy installed for me. It makes Windows 10 look and feel like every windows system before it.
I don't know about ALL browsers but the ones that I've used that would NOT allow me to drag and drop to the desktop are Edge and Firefox.
At the moment, the webcam is pitch black except for the lights on houses directly below it. It reminded me of why a "view" property is a wasted expense imho. A view property from the other side of the lake would be awesome.

Just tried that with Firefox and it doesn't work. But, it does work with Internet Explorer 11 if you click on the icon (not the same icon as in Firefox) in the address window and drag it to the desktop.

Re: Lake view webcam
I just tried with Firefox and you are correct. Ironically, this malfunction was just reported to Mozilla as a BUG a few days ago. Figgers; it has worked for years until now. Works with Chrome, though.
The user world is furious online, because they can't drag pictures now, either.

Re: Lake view webcam
Hope they fix it. I also wish Windows would bring back the right click "move to" function that existed in XP.
You could highlight a whole bunch of photos and "move to" wherever the hell you wanted them to go. It was fast and efficient. This drag and drop stuff is tedious and time consuming and kinda feels like knuckle dragging. Having one thing to drag and drop is fine but the multiples involved in organization of files and photos is infuriating.

Windows 7 was wonderful for putting icons of great links on your desktop. You would just right click the page and one of the options was Create shortcut on your desktop. I used it many times and really miss it.

It is not off topic at all. None of the suggestions above put an icon on the desktop.

Instead of whining cypress, why don't you tell us which browser you're using. That would be helpful.

Re: Lake view webcam
How about a new thread of "How to put an ICON of a web page on your desktop". I come to this thread to see info about a "Lake View Webcam" and now all I see is instructions to place an ICON on your desktop.

Yes, as is often the case for some it has wandered off topic. (Don't read the following if wandering offends you. I found an easier way to put icons on the desktop)
