Home invasion-robbery
I heard last night that a place had been broken into during broad daylight near 16 de Septiembre. Anything more on this?

Re: Home invasion-robbery
I received an e-mail about 2 break ins in Rancho del oro and one in the village so it probably is the same place , hopefully it is. A small white car was spotted every time with 3 guys in it One is about 6 foot tall and they have a gun.
Hopefully it is the one in the village and not a new occurence.

Always surprised these aren't shared when someone gets them... so here is the recent email making the rounds...
There have been 3 break-ins in the Ranch del Oro area in the last month.
Two happened about a month ago. One of those happened while the couple was out. Electronics and jewelry were taken. Another took place about the same time. The husband was home, and 2 young men entered the house through a window. His wife returned to the house during the break-in. The 2 men held a gun to their heads and demanded that they open the safe. Again, mostly electronics and jewelry were taken. The wife observed a small white car across the street when she arrived home.
A third incident was either yesterday or today; not sure. A couple was returning home when they observed a small white car with 3 young men in it. They stopped to ask if the men were lost or needed help. The men said, "No." Shortly after getting home, their doorbell rang. When they answered the door, the men from the white car came in with a gun. One of the men was about 6' tall.
Just be on the lookout for anything suspicious, and never open your door without knowing who is there. If you see a small white car hanging around, please get the license number and we can get it to the 2 couples who have reported their burglaries.

Re: Home invasion-robbery
I hope these people have spoken with each other to see if there is any common thread such as same maid or gardener, same hired help, etc. It is pretty brazen for anyone to go into an occupied house in broad daylight without knowing what is on the otherside.
Re: Home invasion-robbery
I agree, CBob. In my house the only electronics are an old iPad and even older desktop. No jewelry worth much and no safe. It would be a waste of time to invade this house and a lot of risk for nothing.

Re: Home invasion-robbery
Rancho del Oro is an upscale area with large homes, and it would be reasonable for a thief to assume that there are valuables within. Las Salvias and La Floresta have had more than their share of robberies for the same reason.

Upscale or not, IMO this would still take some "inside info" to warrant the risk. The guy on the other side of the door might have a bigger gun than you or some "well connected" friend's.

Because the bad guys are probably friends or relatives of someone who works for the owner, si? Remember? Every maid's or gardener's children, cousins and misc. are angels and would never, ever do anything bad.

Two houses in La Canacinta were broken into Friday night. It appears to be the same white car.

Isn't that a hoot? Can't talk about crime because it is bad for real estate sales, but their head moderator and his gang of malcontents can bitch and complain about every damn thing from noise to corrupt government to potholes to unfair property taxes.
