Heads up - expat scam artist Empty Heads up - expat scam artist

Post by Flamingo Wed Jul 06, 2016 3:55 pm

This was posted on a San Miguel de Allende yahoo group and passed on by a friend: a woman named Georgia Conti, who lives in Patzquarro posted the following message as a 'heads up'.  She wants the word to spread quickly. Please share. As Wendy has lived in Ajijic in the past she may already be known in Lake Chapala.

Wendy Somers departed from Michoacán today after being forced to make restitution to me [OP woman living in in Patzquarro] and Fernando. We were in the process of finalizing a demanda with the ministerio publico when we got wind that she was packing her car to flee. With the assistance of Eronga's police, two of whom speak perfect English, she was given two choices: make restitution or be escorted to Patzcuaro' s ministerio publico. After an hour or so, she finally opted to make payment and the police escorted her to the municipal boundary and was told to never come back to Michoacán. The police were very professional in how they handled the situation, and her intimidating behavior didn't work with them. We were impressed.

This woman uses several aliases and formerly lived in San Miguel de Allende, Ajijic, Lo de Marcos and was making inquiries on various email communication forums, such as Guanajuato and Queretaro, about moving there. Some of you may have met her and/or read her posts on this forum. [an SMA Forum] It is my and Fernando' s belief that she has scammed folks in other parts of Mexico and while we did our best to protect folks here and have her detained, even deported, we managed to only get her out of here. Many people across Mexico have been alerted and given a photo of her, and she will be monitored. The problem is that she often changes her name and email addresses. I thank several friends for helping with the investigation of this bad expat.

More about Wendy Somer aka Wendy Selene, Wendy Somers aka Wendy Selene, Brynn Morgan, Summer Morgan, Mary Blakesley and other aliases. Her scam is to pay two months rent, stay at least six months while her landlord goes through the courts for an eviction... and while that is happening, she wrecks her landlords house and furniture.

AKA on this and TOB as: tenbucklucky, riogrande888, coyotewildwoman, mexicancorazon and ???
The Michoacan Yahoo group has been going crazy with this stuff for the past few days. They seem to agree that she is a horrible person but nobody is willing to say just what she has done. The whole story stinks!

Already been here and kicked off last year. I have a few of her stories in "the vault" and told her if she ever posts on here again I would re-release them. She didn't last long around these parts as everyone was warned well in advance of her arrival from SMA. I'm surprised she hasn't "disappeared" by now.

She seems to be really invested in a couple of her web aliases. Right now she is posting as tenbucklucky and coyotewildwoman on the Expat Forum. She is looking for info on Queretaro.

A google search for tenbucklucky brings up some interesting stuff. Here's a classic case of deflection:

Edited to add that this isn't the E. Gonzalez we know as the artist here.

Not paying your rent is a scam? In Mexico? Also, I can remember a time when putting someone's picture in a post was forbidden so as not to run afoul of libel/slander laws. Times change, I guess.

i am not sure what, besides not renting her a place to live, I am supposed to be on the lookout for. It sounds as though there is more to the story than skipping out on rent.

I guess the moral is: Don't rent to this person. Beyond that, what?

Completely agree. I was just wondering if that was the extent of her transgressions, or is there more?

Probably because not paying rent is actually stealing so I get the impression from the original post she does a lot more than just being a deadbeat tenant. Using a bunch of different aliases is shady as well.

Reading past postings by this person under various pseudonyms... It would seem she attempted to rent or sublet properties... it would be fair to assume she has parted third parties outta some of their hard earned cash....

I think that I recall that very issue being what first caught people's attention a couple years ago. IIRC she started out by threatening to take to court anybody/website with any written criticisms of her. I may be wrong, in a quick search of this and TOB I can find nothing of the sort by anybody using her aliases. Anybody else remember this?

She even lies about her age.  She said on expatforum she was in her late 40's.  Not according to this:

I am a Survivor

I had my brush with cancer as a child. I believe I have long term chronic pain and infertility issues partially because of that experience.

I am personally feeling the physical and emotional impact of my experience, so many years later. I am delighted to find this site. It has been a very valuable resource for me.

I have my MA in Psychology and am a wellness coach. I have been involved in various areas focusing on medical issues for many years.

I have been coaching for over 15 years, and completed my training at CTI, and Duke University in Integrative Medicine.

I have coached a number of cancer survivors and have really enjoyed that work. I am very interested in the patient navigator field focusing on post cancer issues, and am considering starting a non profit service in this area.
