Lunch in Jocotepec
I'm running an errand in Joco tomorrow and taking a friend with me. We'd like to have a nice lunch somewhere. Any recommendations?

Probably the best place to eat in the whole west end is Viva Mexico/Tia Lupita in San Juan Cosala.
Joco, not much. I like Freida's on Hidalgo a lot.Gloria's Cafe in Chante, China Inn almost across from the Bodega on Miguel Arana is the best Chinese food in the area, and that's about it as far as I know. The mariscos place as you are coming into town is ok. If you're there in the evening or at night the tacos pastor place on Hidalgo is great!

What kind of food does Freida's have? Is it near the plaza? I was also considering trying Sima de Copal on the way back, though I'm not sure they are open for lunch. I agree, Viva Mexico is a favorite too.

Try Freida's. The guys are really nice, the room is cute, and the menu is a good lunch menu. Salads, sandwiches, omelettes. . .I always get the mango shrimp salad, really good. A friend always gets a good looking omelette. The sandwiches are good too.
Go into town on Miguel Arana, when you get to the plaza go left and the road becomes Hildago, go about 3 blocks it's on the left behind a tree. Think it's between Jose Santana and Vicente Guerrero. Provecho.

Here is a review of El Rincon de Frida. It is a good choice for lunch if you are in Jocotepec.

Whats the name of that place on the side street a few blocks up from Banamex. He spent a bunch of time in the US. Very varied menu. Also Chinese on main street

Not there anymore, Sparks. I don't know what happened to them, can't remember his name either. They've been closed for a number of years.

Isn't Banamex gone too?
A place that doesn't exist, a few blocks up from a place that doesn't exist. LOL
The heat is getting to everyone.

The name was something to do with Tostada if memory serves. I think he tried to open a 2nd location as you come into town but I never heard much about it.
