Re: New Noise Laws
And, if you kill/poison all those dogs they will just be replaced by 10 more.

I knew that I'd take some flack from the fur kid lovers,I don't care.
People have a right to live in their homes without having to listen to barkers and yappers all day and night.

If you are willing and able to kill multiple dogs in a slow and very painful way (and then kill in the same manner any more dogs brought in to replace them) no one can stop you. I think you should position yourself where you can watch them all suffering and dying slowly though. Take pride in your work.

Re: New Noise Laws
More Mexican dogs die of parvo than are poisoned. It is typical of a Mexican dog owner to not vaccinate their dogs and they will say every time when a pooch is stiff that they were poisoned.

No no, not flack. Just some thoughts and ideas. Why not try lobbing cheap butcher bones up to them. It will keep them busy for days. Busy dogs are quiet dogs. And, yes, you have a right to a peaceful home. Try the butcher bones. If it works for you I will try it too.
Also, it is against the law in Jalisco to poison dogs or be in possession of that rat poison, and they will know exactly who did it. You could be charged with animal abuse and whatever else they can cook up. Don't do it. For so many reasons. Not the least of which is it's not the dog's fault.
I don't call my dogs fur babies either, but I am adamantly against poisoning.

Re: New Noise Laws
You don't know what you're talking about, lady,my wife and son and other people walk down the middle of the street to avoid these barkers,a retired doctor, neighbor, broke his ankle running away from a from a roof pitbull that jumped off the roof, the same pit bull had a water guy" treed" on a fence.Lady Otter Latté wrote:If you are willing and able to kill multiple dogs in a slow and very painful way (and then kill in the same manner any more dogs brought in to replace them) no one can stop you. Re: New Noise Laws
I do know what I am talking about, Viajero. I am talking about what it takes to poison animals. You believe you can do it (or get someone else to do it for you) and be happy about it. I don't know you so I do not know if that is true or not. I said no one can stop you if that is what you are determined to do. That is what I am talking about. I did not attempt to talk you out of it or ask you for your reasons. I did suggest that you should watch the dogs suffering as they slowly die. Since you are so righteous about this course of action you should have no difficulty doing that.

Re: New Noise Laws
Get a large amplifier and a couple of very large directional speakers in the back of a pick up truck and pay some guys to park it out front and blast death metal at the pendejos house from dawn until dusk every single day.
Re: New Noise Laws
I like your thinking, CBob.
I realize you're frustrated but think of the example you'd set for your son. There are people here to contact about animal abuse. Isn't there someone to contact about abuse in Guadalajara? The dogs might be removed if there is.

Re: New Noise Laws
It is not the animals fault. They are at the mercy of the people who keep them.
Viajero I have the same problem where I live. I have a big dog and when we walk each morning we run into the same problems and we stop and converse with the barkers and what do you think they do? They stop and look at us with a puzzeled look. Now they just smile when we walk by.

Re: New Noise Laws
Love CBob's idea. And in the event that their favorite music is death metal and they use the opportunity to party, just move on to another night. Record their own dogs barking and hire the same guy with the death metal speakers to park it under their bedroom window and play the loop of their dogs barking dialed up to earsplitting.
And the sign is a nice touch too, put it up on your property with arrows pointing to the house.
I also think you could file a denuncia against them. There ARE laws, you know. Make a tape, take photos, . . .
You've never said what kind of and how many people live in the house, kids, family. . .?

It's become the Calle de los Perros.
To answer your question TR,almost all the barkers are owned by middle aged Mexican single women, their family are their fur kids.
Forget about the denuncia,98 percent of the homicides here go unsolved,I don't think barking dogs are gonna be a high priority.

Yes.SunshineyDay wrote:Are you sure they are not gringas?
I'm the only gringo in the colonia.
I used to think this dog obsession was a gringa thing, but no..
Maybe they're just agringadas..
One thing I have noticed is that the street dogs don't bark much, just the ones with owners do..

I think gringos assume that dogs in a Mexican's yard and on their roof are pets. They are from it, never entering the home or enjoying a friendly pat on the head.

Re: New Noise Laws
My neighbors with the barking mascotas absolutely LOVE their dogs. In fact, I think the reason they don't discipline or train the dogs is they're afraid it will make them unhappy. They think the dogs should do whatever they want to be happy and loved. When I ask why their dogs bark so much they say "That's what dogs do!".

Why do gringos make such assumptions about Mexico and Mexicans? In this case do you personally know every dog owner here so you can make such broad generalizations?

Ah you want to do a Noriega. I would suggest Paul Anka "Having my Baby" on an endless loop or " Yummy Yummy Yummy I got love in my tummy" by the 1910 fruit cone company (??). They might like metal nobody like the songs I mentioned.

Re: New Noise Laws
I had a vicious roof dog lived on the roof next to mine. Never came over to my roof. One day I was undoing the miles of dead cable that ran in front of my house and I looked up and the big vicious dog was about two inches from my face. I said Hi as a lack of an alternative to say and he licked me. He now wagged his tail when he saw me. Street dogs, roof dogs, and inside dogs all behave differently in my opinion. I have only been bit by Gringa dogs. I have a barking big dog behind my house. It usually doesn't bother me but now I just tell him to shut up gently and he does. I guess I am lucky as I couldn't imagine living next to a pack of roof dogs as Viajero does.
