CFE paperless billing
Usually I go online, print my CFE bill and take it to OXXO to pay.
For the first time ever (yesterday) CFE actually sent me an e-mail with my bill. Anyone else notice this?

Bob, if you activated the Envío CFEMail square on the web site. They will send you the email every single month. I,ve been receiving the e-mail for a long time with no problems. Also, I pay the bill by internet. No comision fees.

I changed addresses a little over a year ago. I registered on their site for the on-line notification thing. Ever since, I have always received e-mails. Then I download the pdf file., print it, pay it wherever, just like you do. That's what you're talking about, right? That's how it's worked for me from the beginning at my place since November 2015.
To be clear, I don't pay my CFE online, just receive notification of a new bill via e-mail. Otherwise I'd have to rely on paper delivery, which could easily mean…………………lights out.

Strange...
Beginning this past December CFE began billing me every six weeks (1 1/2 months). No explanation, prior or after was provided of course. The paper bill also has a new format and size.

There are no commissions if you pay your CFE bills at WalMart.

Re: CFE paperless billing
Its funny to read everyone's comments about their differing CFE online experiences. I wonder why the variation?
Now I signed on to CFE email well over a year ago and have received perhaps 2 emails from them. I do usually get the paper bill anywhere from 2 days to one week before its due date. Sometimes it comes after the due date and I find out by getting an automated call that my power will be cut. Now, I usually pay at my bank online if I remember to pay a couple of days before its due date, paper bill or not. Sadly, due to issues with my banks online service, I ended up paying the CFE bill on its due day directly via the CFE website. They charged 7 pesos commission for paying their bill at their own facility.
It is what it is.I suppose but it makes it a little hard to respect the system.

I bought a house and need to change the name on an existing account. Same for the gas company. Where do I go to do that? Do I need anything besides deed, passport, and visa?

CFE....at their office at the intersection of Privada Zaragosa and Zaragosa, in Chapala, for the Chapala area. Municipio of Jocotepec has a different office in the town for that area.
There are several gas companies, so depending. Deal with the delivery people, they will inform you.

Photograph the meter, print it out, make sure it's readable in the print-out, and take it with you to the CFE Office in Chapala (or other office depending upon your location). You don't need to bring the deed.
