CFE changed to monthly billing?
Has anyone else been changed to monthly billing by CFE for electricity? I paid my bi-monthly bill in October and I just received an email from CFE that my bill was due. I went to the website and there is now a bill for service from Oct. 14 through Nov. 15, payable before Nov. 18. This is the first time this has happened and the bill looks different than the previous ones.
Has this happened to anyone else. If I weren't a regular email user I would not have noticed.

Not us. The only ones I knew of that were getting monthly bills were those with solar assistance. I just checked and we don't have a November bill outstanding.

Thanks Bob. I talked to friends who are on solar and are billed monthly. They were told by their installers that CFE plans to convert everyone to monthly eventually. Looks like I'm one of the first. Good thing I read the email.

Did they install one of those new digital meters recently? That could also explain why.

I have two meters - came with the house that way. Over a year ago they changed one to digital and put a card in my mail box. I called corporate headquarters and had it changed back to bi-monthly. This bill was produced my a meter reader and both meter's bill look the same. One meter is digital one is the older type.

They stopped sending bills to your house and only send emails ?? Poor folks that don't have Internet

I do receive bills sporadically. But this time no paper bill, just an email! Yes what do the people without internet do, which is most of Mexico!

So far I know 3 people in San Juan Cosala who are not on solar and were just switched to monthly billing (without any warning). So it looks like they are starting on SJC first!

Today I received notice of a pending CFE payment. Checking the CFE account online there is a payment due for a 1 month payment. We do not have solar but do have a digital meter. I guess they are changing to one month bills.

I finally did receive a physical bill in my mail box, but had already paid at the machine in Jocotopec. I guess I'm now monthly billing. I've talked to two other people in SJC (non solar) who have been converted to monthly also.

Our last bill (Chapala) came with a notice stapled to it notifying us that CFE is switching to monthly billing. Eventually everyone will get a monthly bill.
