Last night 6 of us from our Bi Monthly Dinner group ate at Ricki's Japanese and Thai restaurant. We ordered different drinks, some had Thai tea which I'm told is excellent and others had various drinks. We ordered appetizers, soups and salads. One ordered Cucumber sushi rolls and another person ordered the Avocado rolls. Three of us ordered Miso Soup which is always good. Three of us ordered the Green salad, probably one of the largest and best salads in Ajijic. It contains two kinds of lettuce, spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, avocado and red onion. It is served with a bottle of Asian dressing so you can add as much as you like. This salad is large enough for two if both people are ordering entrees.

We ordered our meals. Four of us ordered the Shrimp Tempura appetizer, 6 large very lightly battered, non greasy Shrimp served with a thin soy like sauce. One ordered the Chicken with Udon noodles and veggies. As usual Ricki's food was excellent and very reasonably priced. For two Shrimp appetizers, two Miso soups, one side of rice, one Green Salad and 2 soft drinks, the bill was $ 200. pesos!!!

Food quality and quantity: Excellent
Service: Excellent
Cleanliness: Excellent
Prices: Most reasonable in Ajijic
Ambiance: None

RICKI'S JAPANESE and THAI Restaurant
Older post from Sun Feb 13, 2011

Eleven of us from our Bi Monthly Dinner group ate at Ricki's Japanese and Thai restaurant on Thursday night February 10. When we arrived they only had a table reserved for 7, after I had asked for 11. No problem, we split the tables into 5 in one group and 6 in the other. Since the tables were split, I cannot accurately report on each persons meal.

Many ordered the Miso Soup or Ricki's Green Salad which is enough for two, unless you're real hungry. Ricki's has the freshest salad in Ajijic. Everything fresh and crispy. He must buy on a daily basis. Both were excellent.

After the meal, I asked how everyones food was. It was a resounding very good. A few took doggie bags home.

Again Ricki's performs in quality food and excellent service..
