Chacala
We are currently spending the winter in Chacala. It is a quaint little ocean side village about 25 minutes north of Guayabitos. It has a beautiful, calm beach. Very serene with no vendors hassling you. The town is quite small (about 300 FT residents) and very quiet.

Re: Chacala
Is that Mr. and Mrs. Bass I see in one of the photos? Say hello for me.

Why yes it is. Here is a few more pics of the town and beach. There are plenty of cheap digs here for those interested in a visit.

Re: Chacala
I hope it's cooler there than here. This heat might drive a bunch of people there.

Re: Chacala
Yeah it is definitely 90 plus. I enjoy the heat so it is perfect for a while. I imagine it will cool down a bit over the next couple of months.
Re: Chacala
I like Chacala. Great little beach/bay, but I'm afraid I'd get a little bored with it after about a week. Definitely check out Las Cuevas. Have fun!

Re: Chacala
Yeah it is a pretty quiet town. The good thing is all the funky towns to visit between here and PV.
Re: Chacala
Damn! I am so jealous. We have been there and I love it. However, I now worry that it has “been discovered“.

Re: Chacala
Jaja.......nope no one has discovered this place yet. This morning there is maybe 30 people on the beach at most. It only has about 20 sets of gringos living here so it hasn't been ruined yet. We are here for 2 months to just lay around and do nothing.
Re: Chacala
Years ago, 30 people at a time was unheard of. Maybe 10 at the most when we were there. No more than two or three occupied tables where you were sitting in your photos, and a few fellow sailors at anchor.

No stress, no worries, and no clothes. Isn't beach life great?
Hope you and Mike are enjoying it.

Re: Chacala
By the way…..you might also consider going north to explore, not just in the direction of PV. There are some cool spots to the north on the way to San Blas. Cheers and happy travels!
