Short Visit Empty Short Visit

Post by gringo_pv Sun Nov 29, 2015 4:22 pm

Planning on driving over from PV, later this week, to look at a couple places to rent, for a year, or so. I have my place for sale in Vallarta, figuring on a permanent move, ???? Who knows.

Are there any recommendations for a few nights stay. Thinking of Thursday-Sunday. Looks like perhaps a good weekend to come over, and meet a few folks at the A.L. art fair. Nothing fancy required,....clean & safe.

Also, any thoughts on the Ixtlahuacan area? I understand it is a few miles before Chapala/Ajijic. Been a few years since I spent any time near Lakeside.

Regards!

Casa del Sol. Ixtlahuacan is a nice place to visit. We have friends there. I can't imagine living there though.

The "Ix" place, while nice enough is too cold in the winter. They grow quince there 'cause it gets the proper duration of coldish winter weather.

LOTS of great B&B's in the area. If you want to be in Ajijic just Google "B&B Ajijic" and you will find lots of options - and don't think you can go wrong with any of them. The ones that have been around for a while are pretty solid. Give us a little more info on what you are looking for and we might be able to make some recommendations - location, views, etc.

You might also consider La Nueva Posada - a "smallish" hotel with an onsite restaurant - breakfast was included when we stayed there. Beautiful grounds and great views from the restaurant and some of the rooms. Right on the lake.

Also more choices available in San Antonio Tlayacapan and Chapala.

I'm sure you will enjoy your visit!

We stayed at the Casa Blanca numerous times while searching for a home here in Ajijic. Excellent service and great management.
