Has anyone heard from Sparks? His place was taking a beating the last post I read. Sure hope he's OK. I waited for the ten Oclock news...sure that they'd have it all... nada... at least not any more than I already knew. If anyone hears from Scott (Sparks) or Elke and Vern please post the info.

Power's out on the coast.

Scott's last post was at 6:08 on Tom Zap and it was getting pretty hairy. It scares the bejeesus out of me that they decided to ride out the strongest hurricane in history.

Elke was checked in safe on a Facebook group 3 hours ago.
In texas it's 2:15 am. Hadn't heard anything from Sparjs

I haven't heard anything about the Manzanillo area. I hope all are OK.

Not much at all here. Heavy rain however we had had far worse. I don't think the winds ever topped 40 mph. Calm and serene this morning.

According to this article, things are OK. No reported fatalities and the damage was far less than expected.

In SAT I recorded 12 cm or 4 3/4 inches of rain during the course of the storm.

We've got over 5" since yesterday and still going strong. Dallas had had more than Central Tx.

Patricia merged with another front we had.. Send more... :)

Dam.. some parts of Dallas got over 20 inches..

I left a paint bucket "cubeta" out in the open. It was a third filled with water...about 10 inches

150+ mph wind howling at your door is hair raising. Now just clean up and neighbors helped me. We all helped clean the streets. Looking across our community it's a different place. No tall trees or very bare ones

Looks worse than us but strange because Paraíso, Armería is way south of Manzanillo .... but is a beach town

They say that the right side of the hurricane is the part that really gets damaged.

Apparently there are others just as bad and even on this side of the mountain there has been much unreported, (to us), damage from the wind and rain. We were all very fortunate.

Sparks, i thought the same thing about the facebook postings about Paraiso, which is on the coast near Tecoman and Cuyutlan. At least the one i know and which the photos appear to be of.

Lots of questionable photos on Facebook. Saw several repostings of video supposedly showing the effects of Patricia on Joco (Nestipac, specifically). i remembered the video from earlier this year, taken during rainy season. Even though the video specifically said 27 July (or whatever the date was), and even though i posted that information to the first person who sent it to me, it kept getting shared as something caused by the hurricane.

Actually, some of the pictures were from a Mexican newspaper, couldn't copy them though. Showed the President visiting one of the towns. The area the Just Chillin kids come from was hard hit from info received from their family. My friend told me of the damage in her home town near Ameca. These people need help.

i, too, heard the area around Ameca, Jalisco, was hard hit. But one of the towns Sparks and i heard about/saw photos of was Armeria, Colima, also near Tecoman and Cuyutlan.

Yes, the people in the areas that were affected need help, but we need to make sure the help is going where it is needed.

i'm just glad to see that so FEW areas were impacted by a potentially deadly storm.
