I assume you mean applying to become a Mexican citizen?

Here is a previous discussion on the subject:

Unfortunately, that website does not note what photos and documents are required for a Mexican passport. This would be for a Mexican citizen. Does anyone have that info or is it necessary to call the 800 # to find out?

If you go to the passport office on Vallarta in Guad. near Minerva circle, they do the photos right there.
Otherwise bring your acta de nacimiento and copy of CFE cuenta as proof of domocilio. You also have to make an appointment for the day they tell you after picking up the forms to be filled out and to be presented at that time.

the acta de nacimiento is only for Mexican citizens for foreigners it is replaced by the carta de naturalization. The pictures are passport picture, no glasses no hair on the face no jewelry and it is color pictures, the places around there know what is needed for Mexican passport. Make sure they know it is for Mexican passport as if you are a foreigner and ask they give you the photos for immigration even if you say pass´rt.
You have to make the appointment trough the SRE site anyways.
By the way I got the requirements from the site when I applied for the appointment, it was somewhere in there.

You cannot get a Mexican passport unless you are a Mexican citizen.

I just renewed mine last year and they did the photo right in the passport office by a government employee.  No going anywhere else for photos.
That is at the SRE office in Plaza Exhimoda, 3233 Vallarta, Guadalajara.

It was never stated a non-Mexican citizen wished to get a Mexican passport. Actually I do not believe you can get a passport anywhere if you are not a citizen of the nation where you are applying.

You are right slainte they do the picture in the office but I believe I brought pictures. I remember helping a woman who could not write filling out the form and she had brought black and white pictures and she was told to bring color so that stuck in my mind but now that you say it they also took pictures and used those pictures in the passport. We had to go an d have color pictures done for the woman so I remember that you had to bring pictures..Both were 2 years ago,,,My husband remembers having to bring pictures as well as for him since he is an obvious merican they gave him the small pictures...

Just curious, why wouldn't you give them your immigration documents instead of going to the trouble of filing an amparo, because they might lose them?

They have no right to ask for my documents, my Mexican daughters passport has nothing to do with my status. I have my papers in order but teach officials the law and to not ask for them or else. Others do not have them or their documents are in process and their children who are natural born Mexican citizens should not pay the price for some bureaucrats request for documents that are not required.

I always deny people my immigration documents to make them think and show them the law (except when required such as crossing international lines or notarial acts). It isnt for me but for the next person and all foreigners who are here no matter what their status.

I also am trigger happy and want to finish my masters degree next year with a specialty class in amparo so I want lots of practice.

Here is an example of an amparo my professor did

If they require the parents ID,which doesn't seem unreasonable to me,what ID would you show them if not your Residente card, your US passport?
If you want practice filing amparos why not start with one dealing with vehicle importation?

Ill show ID, not immigration card. As I am not directly affected by the car stuff and it must be done at the border, I dont want to have to go that far.

That must be for minor children only, as how could older adults whose parents are long deceased provide their ID very easily?
Has never came up in my experiences with SRE.
